Im fijian and hell yess the women drink it ! Some of our biggest chiefs in Fiji are women n they have to drink the kava in culutral ceremonies ! ive never heard of any women in the polynesian or melanesian culture that can't drink kava

Kava is made to be served by itself. You can get plenty of side effects from mixing the taste. That was my problem drinking that stuff everyday. I always drank a gatorade to kill the taste, but I got hella dry skin...on the inside! Meaning....after I shower...I got itchy! Not to mention that I can't eat or drink too sweet stuff no more! If I ever drink again...which I doubt..I will never mix the taste. Besides, your tongue gets numb after a few drinks anyway.
Polynesians drink kava in many tradition ceremonies. White people are new to that stuff. thats been around in polynesian culture for thousands of years and maybe longer. Polynesians also invented Tattoos and surfing.
kava drinking actually originated in Melanesian culture and through trade and migration came to Polynesian culture. in melanesian culture, I have seen many women drink kava.
you are dead wrong. Polynesians were the first..polynesians been drinking that way before the white man came and documented it. its in tongan resources and you cant find it in European resources. This is sacred to the polynesian culture
i am not talking about white people. melanesians are in fact black pacific islanders (such as, Vaunatu and New Guinea). Kava originates in Vanuatu and that is not the polynesian. kava came to tonga and fiji along with the first settlers of those island.
dude, im not trying to argue with you but this is very true what i am telling you. I know polynesian history. Kava is natural to polynesia. it grows naturally in the island and my ancestors drank that for thousands of years. new guinea is not that far from tonga and samoa. polynesians settled new guinea thousands of years ago then they migrated to what is know known as polynesia. old polynesian religions speaks about kava and old war stories. no european resources can correct that.
Tongan, you didn't even prove him wrong by saying it exists in Polynesian religions.
How does that have any bearing on how long the plant has been around. He's actually quite correct. It doesn't really matter what culture discovered Kava first, I'm pretty sure your ancestors didn't give a damn. :DDD
Yes, but when someone talks kava. Mostlikly going to be talking about the pacific islanders. Such as Tonga/Samoa/Hawii/. People like that. And what I think Tonga is trying to say is for the tongan culture, woman drinking kava is no good! But mabey in difrent cultures its difrent.
Sorry to break to you guys but I'm pretty sure the melanesians gave to the polynesians, and the melanesians got it from the zabesians. The zabesians got it from the cwackamesians. Who were given it by the bedesians.
I was at the bar a few weeks ago. I had a double shot of tonga. It wasn't bad at all. Before having this I've tried kings kava which was absolutely horrible! nakava gets some good stuff. I was very light headed after that shot. Then half hour later I felt like I could read the bible in one day! haha.
It's kind of bitter. But its very nice! if you drink the culture way, indtead of the flavoring she puts in it, it's desgusting but it gets you drunk way way way much faster!
This girl is the best Naka Chick At the Boca Raton Nakava Bar. She is a lot of laughs, cool chick. I always enjoy and have a blast when she is working behind the bar.

People need to stop being such pussies. Kava is a bit gritty, but it tastes bitter like over-brewed tea. Really not that bad.
