im looking at a automatic 75 camaro with a aluminum 350 engine has bolt on roll cage needs some body work not everything lines up has been raced at a speedway decent shape but could be loaded with bondo for $4000 is it worth that orice? could be burning oil too?
@Prime521 What kind of gas mileage do you get with that 700r4 Trans? I was thinkin of gettin 1 for my camaro. I will have almost about the same set up as you but with 750dp carb and 385ci.
@77ChevyCamaro its ok on gas mileage nothing to brag about but still have to put gas in almost everytime i drive it, in which i dont go very far so. put it also depends on what gears you have as well iam debating on taking out the 3.73s and puting in 4.11s or 4.56s since no longer daily driver. the 385 sounds cool
@Prime521 I got 3.73s in the car. Do the RPMs drop alot with the 700r4 when it shifts? I heard that when they shift in to 2nd that they fall flat on its face.
@77ChevyCamaro no i have never had that problem, maybe if you put a completly stock unbuilt one in and threw a bunch off power and torque at it. but i have never had a problem pulling through gears before
@ericg83z no not yet in the process of instaling csr electric water pump, eliminater intake basically a victor intake, and holley street hp 750 carb,and going to try out that spectre pro fab cold air intake, also removing power steering since no longer is it the daily driver, shity on gas lol. but will be at track soon wil post vid
nice! I love my 79 camaro,has a 71 front clip on it looks killer, I have the 355 in it also. it's on youtube if you want to see it, at the88katana600 I have a few vids of the car.
@LoganTheRedneck no studs do to the shaft rocker setup, but had to machine the bosses on the head down to get the right angel for the rocker arm geometry, but its normal if your runing a cam under 650 lift at least thats what the people at T&D say.
@Prime521 No video but I will upload as soon as can. It doesn't look any where near as good as yours,but i'm in the process of doing body work now so paint is coming soon. You will love the stroker, but no need to hurry.Love my vortec 355.I have 400 block for future plans also.
