  • You are a dirty man. I mean that in a good way.

  • @BeckMCS9876 thank you, i'm dirty but polite ;) see you!

  • really good sound man. Which amp modeller, stomp, delay vs. use this tone?

  • @gitarjam the ac30 simulation on pod, don't remember the exact name (for not pay vox brand) because i don't use pod anymore but you find easily. all stock, volume of amp to max and a bit of plate reverb. no stomp, no eq, no modulation, no noise gate, no compression. most of those things have a bad impact for tone using the pod, on my ears

  • What amp, exactly, are you using? Any pedals? It sounds awesome! Or, is it something like a POD connected to computer via USB? Please share as, for me, this makes a HUGE difference as to what I'm actually hearing here. Thanks!

  • @brtube569 i used a pod xt live in usb recording, vox ac 30 emulation with just the reverb. modern modeling are very good for recording, maybe not for real performance on real amps, but for a digital recording they have a nice vitality. now i'm using a tonevox st i find lively and with a better dynamic than my pod, and i tried the new pod hd and find them really unconvincing. with a good audio interface, for cleans and light crunch is great even amplitube 3, better fenders i eard on simulators

  • @rafport Ok, one last question: If you recorded this video using the Pod XT Live in USB mode, what camera, and what software, did you use to create the video while still using the audio from the Pod? Thanks so much!

  • @brtube569 i use an old mac without camera, so it is a very big problem use a webcam for driver. there are a sort of emulator for cam (performance is quite slow) and here i used the webcam of xbox 360 :) with quicktime. any video recorder program should be ok, the important thing is to choose as audio input your effect connected from usb (like an audio card). so you can record directly without any work, like i usually did, audio from pod (now from tonelab st) and video from cam

  • youre an awesome guitarist

  • @coldfood10 very kind thanks!

  • @rafport no problem, its true

  • was thinking of getting on of these in the most beautiful surf green, i've got an old tele neck laying about, is the neck pocket the same size as fenders?

    thanks

  • @devonsucks i'm not sure about that, i never tried a change of neck. i can say measure are almost identical, but there are some differences in holes for pickup, holes for pickguard... so i cant assure it is exactly identical the neck pocket. anyway several sx models has 3 screw under neck, this one is 4 screw like usual fenders

  • hi raf - I'm still deciding between this guitar and the SX Strat. How do you think this gtr would sound with a Fishman Powerbridge Piezo Pickup? I really want a semi-hollow guitar that I can modify and I think this is it...would also like to drop a piezio in there any would value your opinion.

  • @clemmdupree i think both will play nice with the piezo bridge, but in my opinion the sx thinline has a nice pickups (i ordered new pickups just a few days ago anyway:) and can be used like this with small or any mod. my sx strat is nice too, but pickups was horrible, tuners was horrible and just now it has just the wood of the stock model, all rest was substituted. think what you need, but as a start point the tele is surely better. there are lot of good cheap strats, not same of thinlines tele

  • @rafport Thank you, sir. You've been a big help. I will keep you posted.

  • @rafport Thank you, sir. You've been a big help. I will keep you posted

  • @clemmdupree i'm here if you need some other info or suggestions. bye!

  • i have one of the SX Hawk models. Rosewood fretboard, gold hardware, red, quilted finish, the damn thing sounds and feels like a god.

  • Love your playing, and this tele really puts out! Where did you purchase the SX Thinline from? Thank you : )

  • @neoionunder56 thank you for compliments! i get this sx from an ebay european store called dn-store. is not so easy to find. us customers should check in rondo music store i guess. i'm going to change pickups in next future, but really the stock one are not bad at all and for their price is an incredible guitar (especially if you can do setup and little work by yourself). bye!

  • II just picked up the p90 tele SX furian model. The neck is flawless, nice filed fret ends, very even, no buzz. I have a squire strat I paid 99 for and I had to file the fret ends, it was very sharp. This is amazing for 109 dollars. I have one of their jazz boxes from sx also, the EG 7

  • Fantastic sound, i've 2 SX guitar, an EXPLORER and a STRATO Limited, and for the price are fantastic guitar... i've also a POD XT, i want yo're preset :-) is it's possible...

Thanks man... very very good sound

  • @XGRUNF thank you very much. the tone is simply a vox ac30 with default pod settings and a plate reverb

  • @rafport That AC30 MAKES A WHOLE LOT OF TH DIFFERENCE!

  • @rafport yeah, I bet that AC30 makes a lot of the difference in the sound--they are real good sounding amps---but real costly, right?

  • wow, this sounds AMAZING!

  • @SecretStashRecords thank you :)

  • Agreed, there are lots of good cheap guitars around nowadays. Sometimes all they need to play and sound great are a good fret level and dress.

What A.I.R. settings did you use? I just became addicted to PodXT's AC30TB emulation. I usually use it with cab #15 (4x10 Line 6, I think) + SM 57 either off- or on-axis

    VERY nice tone BTW.

  • thank you for compliments. i'm using the default value for the vox for cabinet and mic.

  • I've played an SX strat and it feels really nice to play, pickups of course are lacking but it is sure better than buying an Epiphone Special II or Squier.

  • i've an sx strat and agree with you, but this one has great pickup stock and i wont leave out as i usually did on most of guitars. it need to be tried

  • the pickups are cool for cleans, but for crunchy stuff they don't compare to fender pickups for example

  • Nah. I guarentee this SX was made in the same factory as fender. All that hype for fender will go away once people see the bright side of Chinese-Made Guitars :P I've got me a SX Tele-Copy, Sounds as good as my friends American Telecaster.

  • @extinctpunisher sx are good guitar, and there are other good guitars who is cheap, and for sure for an expensive full brand guitar you pay lot of money just for name. but anyway there are building, hardware and finish difference from an american strat and an sx. the good news are you can easily change bad sx components, and usually obtain a similiar tone for a part of the price. anyway difference is not just in the name

  • @sob012 it really depends. this one have a good pickup set, and i say it is good comparing with full price american tele. every guitar has his own tone, but this one is good. for example my sx strat has very bad pickups, lifeless, ceramic and play more or less like a cheap squier (anyway it costs less). but with a pickup change it became a good guitar. hardware are sometime good, sometime awful, anyway even for the price you can change in a second time and save money

  • I owned a real 1969 telecaster thinline. Yours sounds just as good. Of course, it's all in the fingers.

  • you owned a great guitar! (and a real vintage one, with wood who has lot of years and this make lot of difference). i was just saying there are good and cheap instrument, and this iper cheap sx with stock pickups is one of best i ever tryied. All is in fingers, it is true, but something make our fingers happier than other :)

  • Hey friend, how long have you been playing for? You're very good, thanks. I'm buying this guitar soon =]

  • i play from 18 yrs :) thank you. it is a good buy !

  • @rafport Thanks man, I just bought it, awesome guitar for the price. Maybe I should solder it...

  • compliments for the buy, it is a really good guitar in my opinion. if your guitar need some tuning or some better wiring, you can do as you want... have a cheap guitar is very good for this too, no fear to damage or modify a "valuable" instrument :)

  • Damn nice guitar..... damn fine playing. Geeze the tone. Contemplating a USACG semi-hollow build, both sides are hollow, like a 335.... hoping some mini-hummers with give her a decent BB tone.

  • it seem a very interesting experiment. thank you for apreciate guitar & playing :)

  • ur playin is fuckin legit

  • thank you

  • excellent! absolutely, excellent

  • thank you :)

  • her settings are originals?

  • settting of guitar or pod?

  • I forgive, I went to say pickups

  • What are your settings?

  • if i remind well it is just vox ac30 amp with default settings (usually i put volume to max and change gain to taste, like a real amp) without any stomp, that play so bad and artificial to my ears in the pod. i use effect before amp usually, so reverb should be before amp

  • It's very quiet - not Hissy. Did you install any shielding to this guitar, or id it already shielded? Thanks for posting this.

  • it's not shielded (to be honest, the soldering is terrible i should re-open and do by myself all wiring!). but i usually use amp with a moderate gain and no compression, so this aid to be silent even in single coils. anyway those pickups really shine

  • thank you! i don't understand the question, can you explain me better?

  • amazing sound and tone!!!

    Real cool axe!?
