My drum set in this video in its entirety costs about $2,600. The ride I want costs over $300. I'm pretty happy with the ride I have, so why on earth would I spend $300+ on another ride that I think only sounds slightly better?

I have other things to spend my money on, too.

If money were not an issue, I'd really like to have an A Custom 20" Ping Ride - I'm in love with the way both the ride and the bell sound. However, I actually like the way the B8 Pro sounds more than a lot of the higher-end Zildjian and Sabian rides, so until I have a steady job or find one for a ridiculously good deal, I likely won't get one any time soon.

Eh well, I don't have tattoos, piercings, or long hair, so I look dumb when I try. Plus, the angle from my left side makes me look really stupid when I do. If I look bored, it's probably because I'm concentrating...this is the only cover I have put up without practicing beforehand, so I wasn't 100% comfortable with the drum parts.

At the time of this video, I'd only been recording drums for about a month - there was a heck of a lot I didn't know about technique and how to make them sound good, so I completely agree.

If you're interested, check out my Evanescence cover, which was done much more recently; I think they sound really good in that video.

Yeah I think the volume level is fine, but I think people are saying that because it's not a very tight or focused sound. I recorded this quite a while ago, before I knew much about recording drums at all, so I actually had the mic outside of the resonant head...there was practically no definition whatsoever in the bass drum sound!

Good Lord!!!! I have always wanted to learn to play the drums and finally decided to do something about it. Well, kind of... I just do not have the time, so, I bought the ION drum kit and the Alesis surge cymbals. Rock Band 2 and poof. I'm having fun. Not going to join any bands, but I'm playing this song on hard and some others on expert. So, I'm happy. I don't think I'll ever be able to play like this guy though. You are truly a gifted drummer my friend. Maybe one day I'll be able to do that.

Remo Emperors on the toms, Emperor coated reverse dots on the snares, and Evans EMAD on the bass drum. All the resonant heads are whatever came on the drums when I got them. Thanks for the comment!
