@nikigurl08 They are actually an indoor dog... Remember, these beautiful animal not only fought on the battle field, but lived inside the castles to protect the women and children. They are gentle with kids you wouldn't want to get between it and their peoples... Unless it's like my friends IW who's the worlds biggest chicken! But loveable still the same. :+)

I own an Irish wolfhound

they are a seperate breed from scottish deerhounds currently and historically

IWH used to be used as guard dogs and for elk/wolf hunting thn they became nearl extinct. The stock was rebred with great danes scottish deerhounds and great pyranesse to re-establish the stock. They are no longer the pure original IWGH but they are definitly there own breed. (and originally IWH were from the celts and ireland - some say the SDH is a degenaration otb

There are Irish Wolfhounds and Scottish Deerhounds (which looks like a more skinny Irish Wolfhound). There's no such thing as an Irish Deerhound!

One of the friendliest dogs you can get, a friend of mine's family used to own a farm down in Mullingar(Ireland) and he had 2 of those monsters running around the land. Awesome dogs.

O ya and there is not such dog as a scottish deerhound - its not a breed and is 100% guranteed not AKC certified breed because it doesnt exist.

the dif is SDH is slightly shorter alot skinnier faster but not as powerful a build. They also have a different coat an temperament then IWH do (who can be more aggresive and less energetic)
