so the bars time frame never changes--they'll always be the same number of BARS in a span of 1 minute say...--but the number of BEATS that are in the bar can increase or decrease?

@pawndominance1 ok I know now that this is wrong--the time frame does change with different bars--But how do you know what sounds to count as a beat and what ones not to. Obviously you don't want to include the high hat beats--Is it mostly drums and snares?

Yea, my brother can't count beats, I found out when my other brother and I were playing guitar we told him to count the beats for us and he couldn't do it. We laughed about it for a while but it was fun.

You want to change the tempo. What software are you using. I use Sonar 8 producer and it can do that. If you're using FL Studio I believe that it can do that too since all DAW are almost the same anyway. I guess you can go to the HELP section and see how to do it.

you highlight the channels you want to minimize. by right clicking on what i call the "green light" to the left of the first beat then just hit ALT+Z.

Also you see the black drop down menu that says "all". you can have as many different names in there as u want. i.e drums only channels on the screen, melody only, bass only, u rename them yourself..

hmm i know i didnt explain that second part very well. maybe il make a tutorial lol

Also, 4/4 time is often called "Cut-time" or "Common Time " and so sometimes you see a money type "CENT" symbol on sheets music you buy at music shops anywhere you get it.

so when you see a " C " letter, it means that each bar has 4 beats.

4/4 time is NOT cut time, cut time is 2/2 which means 2 beats in each measure and the half note gets 1 count, which is why its called "cut time" and the "cent sign with a line through it" refers to 2/2, and the C without the line is 4/4 which means 4 beats in the measure and the quarter is 1 count
