The X files is the best show I ever watched on tv. Criss Carter is a genius creator of it but Gillian and David are what made it so special and compelling. Watching this clip is a true pleasure! That was some insane chemistry they had. And the kiss...I just melted a bit. Wonderful!

There is too much sadness in her, I feel. Whenever I look at her, regardless what role she is playing or what interview she is giving, I feel she always thinks of the negatives of things. Never saying one positive thing strongly, because the opposite might happen someday. I hate it when people I really like do that. Loved these two in the X-Files. The chemistry between them was something that rarely happens in television, movies, even music bands. I've got seasons 1 to 5 on DVD, and never get tired of watching it. A little disappointed in the movies, though, especially the last one.

All I know is that David and Gillian are pretty much soulmates, because they don't look as happy with anybody than when they are with each other. They look at each other as if they're the most amazing thing on earth. So yeah they're so fitted with one another. The real people as well as their characters.

I can see David not wanting a long term relationship because of the whole sex addiction thing (though I don't know if that was even relevant at the time). At least they don't seem to hold a grudge against each other now.

She and Clyde split and she turned to David for emotional support. He escorted her to the Emmys and it is rumoured that at this time they re-kindled a sexual relationship. It was also rumoured that at the emmys, afterwards, at a party or something, they had a huge fight. The theory was that Gillian wanted to go public with their relationship and David didn't.

Gillian's response was to hook up with that Rodney Roland dude presumably to make David jealous.

Chris Carter even suggested they go to couples therapy. Gillian reacted by hooking up with Clyde Klotz, her first husband. Perhaps to make David jealous.

Almost immediately after hooking up with Clyde, Gillian discovered she was pregnant. The first person from the show she told: David. Major rumour has it that he was Piper's biological father.

Here's the relationship timeline as per the rumours:

They started filming the pilot and Gillian had trouble remembering her lines as fast as she needed to. Feeling overwhelmed, she turned to David for help and supposedly a sexual relationship occurred. Perhaps with David thinking that the show was not going to last.

The show ended up being a huge hit and David backed away from a serious, long-term relationship with Gillian causing a lot of tension on the set. (continued in next post)
