Thanks for posting your video. While I understand your point about creative writing majors getting work in other fields I would like to say that plumbing is certainly not one of them! I mention this because many academic types think that if their dream goes up in smoke that they can always get a manual labor gig to tide them over till they get something that's
If you find my videos useful, you might want to check out my web site — home.comcast.net/~david.m.harris/site/ — where you can find out what it costs to hire me as proofreader, editor, or coach. I’m not cheap, but I’m good.
Hey there. My dream is to write fiction. I have an associate degree in arts, and I was wondering if that would be enough to get myself taken seriously by publishers, etc. I consider myself a good writer, and it's something I love to do. I love to create stories. I guess I'm just wondering if someone has talent, and is determined to make it do they need to have a special degree?
As far as I know, it is going to depend on how well you can network. Of course, it's going to depend heavily on whether you can write well. If you know a lot of people high up in a major publishing company and have a degree in art or writing, it isn't going to get you anywhere unless your writing is creative, unique, and intriguing.
'on their level'. This is not only arrogant, but also foolish! Belive me, I used to think that way too!
