  • @MakingRevolutionX

    ))><(( forever

  • Kember>Pierce

  • Back and forth, forever...

  • why does this sound like boston?

  • @midaviru The chords maybe a little, the style no.

Many songs use the same chord progressions but not the same timing or style. Its quite hailarious to see bands rip off songs with common chords. G, C, D for example. But regardless I see where you are coming from.

  • Pierce > Kember

  • @KGBGeneral Spacemen3: Pierce=Kember; Early Spz>Early Kember, Late Spz<Late Kember. Jason is really a pussy these days. He can't even rock properly anymore

  • @JerzuRF pierce own.

  • @JerzuRF youve to be kidding

  • Spiritualized and Spectrum videos are always so wicked.

  • oh, YES!!!

  • one of my fave.

  • could someone please upload this in better quality. i've seen parts of it real decent quality in some of the interview clips. but i really need the whole video in all its psychedelic splendor.

  • great song in the early 90's

  • I adored this when it came out, never stopped playing it .. just sounds so nice now ... great memories..

  • this versions got the energy that gets me grooving

  • es increíble! me despierto con esta canción todas las mañanas. aguante the troggs aguante jason pierce (L).

  • TE_MA_ZO!

  • the video matches the song perfectly! this is one of my favorite spiritualized tracks

  • Terrible. Give me The Troggs.

  • @SuperDuperGrant You gotta be kidding me about the Troggs....go listen to the first recorded version as done by the Liverpool Five in very early 1966 from Chip Taylor's demo.

  • This is the best version and the only version.

  • This version is really good but the best version is the original as recorded by the Liverpool Five in early 1966 which has recently turned up on its own posting on You Tube. It is well worth checking out.

  • me recuerda a los 90's Stone Roses entre otros, gracias Claudio

  • Spectrum, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, music to really get into and enjoy!! All you people with negative remarks full of hate can you just give it a break. I'm into Peace and Love for the world, come together for humanities sake;-)

  • Rare live Spiritualized videos on my channel!!!

  • Might be an oldies, but it still works for me:)

  • Seconded.

  • Just a reminder to check on Y.Tube for the first recording of this tune by the Liverpool Five...before the Troggs, long before Spiritualized even smoked a joint, that often overlooked band from the UK that settled in the US put out a fab soulful treatment for RCA Victor.Take time to check it out!!!!!!!

  • I just love both versions ( Spiritualized and LP5 that is...definately NOT the Troggs.

  • memories of my tripped out youth...oh to be young again..i warned out my 12" copy of this...just bloody perfect

  • wild thing you make my heart sing

  • Jason and John. No one else comes close.

  • c. 2009 Capitol Records. And Capitol/EMI for the world outside of North America. An Electronic Music Industries company. Used by permission. All rights reserved.

  • mgmt was clearly inspired by these guys

  • Got to know this song from the movie "Me you and everybody we know". Great song and great movie!!!

  • @FreneticKey scratch your balls. with a knife

  • @mca68 why ? because you're a true fan and knew about this song before the movie ? so then you have the right to be snooty to people who just learned about this ?

  • never saw the movie, shitbird. and im not being snooty, im being funny.

  • @mca68 funny ?

  • listen dare to wear flares, grow up and take a fucking joke..especially one that wasnt directed to you at place.

  • @mca68 dare to wear flames ?? ouch ? im not going to insult you, im just so sick of people like you always being so negative, and the fact that you're one of those "i knew about this band before the movie trailer" or whatever reallyreally bugs me

  • it's a chip taylor AKA james voight song.

  • Both versions are equally good but for different reasons. Enjoy

  • I like The Troggs version, but this takes the prize. I have the full 12" version and that takes the song to a different dimension - all out psychedelic wig out. Not sure if that is on YouTube.

  • guys, lets chill a bit here, I think this track really rocks, why can't we all just get along?

  • Troggs version is pure douchebag when compared to those of Spiritualized and Liverpool Five.

  • @Roxsox221 dude they wrote the song

  • Hey Johnstick22...get it right. As noted by others Chip Taylor wrote the song and the LP5 were the first to record it. The Troggs heard their version, simplified it and had the hit in England. The LP5 version had made it made in into the Top 100 in the USA.

  • Hey Sjonne, you need to go listen to the first recorded version of this tune found as the second track on You Tube's " Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part 2)"....better than the Troggs...go listen!!!

  • Hmm, I hate this too wishy washy and he can't sing.

  • You need to check out the original version. It's the second tune on You Tube's "Nuggets from the Liverpool Five, Part 2"...now that' s fine vocals..let me know if you agree mate!!!

  • I agree with you Oddsman, altho I like this version by Spiritualized, the original , done ( before the Troggs) by the Liverpool Five is the most soulful and deserving of more appreciation.

  • @Oddsman57This Spiritualized version is good but I gotta tell ya that the Liverpool Five version also on Yu Tube is the best.

  • theyre exactly the fucking same. so ill err on the side of originality and leave derivitive banality to these fucking chumps. if youre gonna cover a song, break new ground. otherwise youre just cashing in on your forebears blood sweat and tears. this version bites the bag.

  • You're right on the first point-- these are similar. But I don't think it was wasted was effort on Spiritualized's part. I love this version as well.

  • This easily trumps the Troggs' version.

  • This is such an amazing video.

  • muv are you kidding? Spiritualized is fucking awesome.

  • muvboy you fuckin ball bag

  • You gotta have your head up your ass Muffboy. The versions of this tune by the Liverpool Five and Spiritualized are as noted by everyone else here F*******G AWESOME.You must be tone deaf....just like Geo. W.!!!!

  • LSD

  • still sounds fkn great.....

  • Soul out theirs of there...anyway...green rain makes for funny stains

  • This is a real KOOL version. I came over from the Liverpool Five's site and was surprised by the quality of this interpretation. Well done Spiritualized.

  • You are right this is a fine interpretation but still not as soulful as the LP5's

  • their long version is even better

  • I just heard this song in the trailer for "9.99 movie" so this will probably become more popular... this version rocks but I like Juice Newton's version a little better. :)

  • excuse my ignorance but never heard this version before, Brilliant !!!. Does anyone know anything about this band as I would be grateful

  • Well worth looking around on YouTube. Spiritualized blew my mind when they released 'Medication', when I was 15 - the closest anyone's really got to the Velvet Underground. Before they were Spiritualized they were Spaceman 3 - even starker. The albums to get are Electric Mainline, Pure Phase and Ladies and Gentlemen...

  • 'Medication' is an especially poignant song. Anyone who has experienced the sublime exaltations and profound miseries of opiate addiction can wholeheartedly relate.

  • Cool version but not quite as soulful as the one by the Liverpool Five noted here by others.Forget the Troggs

  • this is my favorite version of this song, because of its psychedelic sound

  • Testify!

  • Doesn't this have the same chords sequence from "Wild Thing" in it for the chorus? but this version reminds me of the pixies i dono

  • Co-written by Chip Taylor, who wrote "Wild Thing." Also some similarities to "Angel of the Morning," also written by Taylor. All three great songs, though.

  • I must agree that the best versions of this song on You Tube are this one and the one by the Liverpool Five. Evie Sands is not too bad either, but the TRoggs....UGH,.

  • @Oddsman57 Gotta agree with you that this version and the one by the Liverpool Five are by far the best.

  • @Oddsman57 That version by the LP5 is not listed under the title but included as one of three tunes on "Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part1)". I just heard it on that You Tube site and it is a gas..thanx for posting

  • @MsLoosylou Sorry guys but that LP5 version is on ( Part 2)....I had too much to dream last nite.

  • @MsLoosylou Thanks for that tip about the Liverpool Five but I just found this song by them recently posted by itself on the Tube with a sexy video

  • Cool version..the best I have heard since I found the one by the Liverpool Five on You Tube,. Those two are much better than the ones by the Troggs and Evie Sands. Thanks for putting this out.

  • one of my favorite spiritualized songs (though it's a cover). the psychedelic sound of this song just makes it perfect to light a joint of your poison and turn this up LOUD.

  • this song hits so hard.

  • Wow...this is a very sensitive version of the song originally written by Chip Taylor. However , while on You Tube you should take note of what others below have commented and go to " Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part 2) and listen to the first recorded version of the song released in early 1966, months before the Troggs got it in England. Chip Taylor has noted that the LP5 version has always been his favorite and he is glad he offered it to them first . Go take a listen for yourself.

  • Great band, cool song, awesome video

  • first spiritualized song i heard hooked on them ever since.love this video

  • Not bad, but I agree with Jack & TMSgal that the version by the Liverpool Five is better. It's such a pretty song, and the Liverpool Five's version is much more romantic and soulful.

  • Jack London 13

Wow another version of this great song. I never this version before must admit it,s great better than the Troggs close to Evie Sands But I still thin the Liverpool Five version ios the best yet

  • I love this song but prefer the much more soulful version recorded in 1966 by the Liverpool Five. You can check it on You Tube's " Nuggets from the Liverpool Five ( Part 2)" . It's much better than the Troggs.

  • gosh

    i'm obsessed with this song

  • It'll do you no harm, and possibly a lot of good. I've listened to it ten times so far this evening.

  • Liars suck but karma is a wonderful equalizer.

  • id love spiritualized to duet with evie sands on this one

  • jason pierce ripped sonic off with this one, sonic wanted to cover it for years but i guess jason beat him to the punch

  • info from wikipedia or allmusic?

  • i'm a massive spacemen 3 fan,i dont need wikipedia and never heard of all music, thank you very much

  • yup!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @sydpage

I think it would suit Sonic better

  • wow. this video is so 1990-1991.

  • Love this tune

brings back so many shoegazing memories

  • what exactly does shoegazing mean

  • "Shoegazing" refers to a style of music from the early '90s, originating mainly in Manchester (from bands like Stone Roses, Lush, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, et al). The common element in this style was a droning, guitar-heavy wall-of-sound approach, and the term refers specifically to the limp, dazed, somnolent stance taken by the live musicians -- i.e. no dancing, no toe-tapping, no movement at all: just "gazing at their own shoes."

A good example here, though not strictly of the genre.

  • I always think of Ride as the ultimate shoegazing band. Them, and Thousand Yard Stare!

  • I think the happy mondays took far too many happy pills to be referred to as shoegazers! The stone roses had the funkiest vibes around, totally danceable to, and thus, weren't shoegazers either. The possible rigid non movement of some of these musicians live was probably down to concentration or nerves ;)

  • You're right, of course -- the Roses were pretty danceable. How about My Bloody Valentine, then? Just saw them last Thursday in Toronto. The ultra-noise-break in You Made Me Realize lasted a full 24 minutes! Nearly unbearable. (In the main, the show was fair, not superb. Perhaps the last-minute venue change had an effect on some poor sound-mixing choices.)

  • Yes! Exactly you've got it , My Bloody Valentine were totally shoegazers :) Toronto- cool, didn't realize they were still going. Now we're onto shoegazing all that keeps popping into my head is Pale Saints- gotta be shoegazers surely?

  • I didn't know the Pale Saints much. This has got me thinking, though. Probably the earliest band that fits the shoegazing label would be the Jesus and Mary Chain. I recall their being pretty catatonic in performance, and certainly very noisy.

  • Thousand Yard Stare are good shoegazer material, but the ultimate shoegazing band were Ride - with the greatest tracks being Leave Them All Behind or, best of all, Vapour Trail. Vapour Trail is as addictive as Any Way That You Want Me...you can't listen to it just once.

  • People, Lush... Top shoegazers FTW?

  • The death of Spacemen 3

  • cud someone tell me which album this is on plz

  • It isn't on any album. You can find it ona a "Anyway That You Want Me" single or compilation "Complete Works, vol. 1"

  • It was just a information, I halv hjerner, The Troggs is the best, it is the best.

  • It is a cover but are: Jimi Hendrix - All along the Watchtower Aretha Franklin - Respect Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah Joe Cocker - A Little Help from my friends Soft Cell - Tainted Love The Clash - I fought the law Sonic Youth - Superstar The Byrds - Mr Tamborine Man The Beatles - Twist n Shout Amy Winehouse - Valerie So it don't matter none......
  • The is a good song. The original by The TROGGS is just much much better, Reg Presley got the right feelin'

  • SPACEMAN IS A GENIUS

  • this is a great song, no matter who plays it ;-)

  • Who cares if it's a cover? It's still a beautiful song. And much better than the original.Who cares about authorship, that's just ego, songs are divinly inspired, the conduit-musician the energy chooses is irrelevant except for the small personel stamp left on it by the artist.

  • No way, that's exactly how think.. people are just channels for it. Great comment

  • me and you and everyone we know ...

  • Why were you bummed to learn it's a cover?

  • this is my favourite song i've heard from this band, and i was bummed to learn it's a cover

  • PURE PHAZE

  • me and you and everyone we know

  • had this on single when it was first out many years ago love it

  • It's hard not to be in love with this beautiful song

  • Indeed...such a beautiful tune...one of my fav's by the mighty spiritualized!

  • (inlove)
