  • the only two songs that can bring a tear to my eyes and lump in my throat are this one and "feels like home" . If you need to let out some pent up emotion, i'd recommend those.

  • probably the saddest and best written song of all time - simple yet heart breaking.

  • Everytime I hear this song I miss my dad even more, and it's been almost 6 years.

  • @drederprops I outta shove my size 12 up your a** for saying that.

  • Every time I hear this song, I weep uncontrollably...

  • Randy Newman you god

  • as much as i love randy, his voice sounds a tad strained here, maybe just because it was a bad day when this was performed lol

  • This one's for you my beautiful fiancee, your life ended too quickly, I will never love anyone like I loved you. I'll see you on the other side. I'll never get over losing you

  • i really love randys songs because they really make me think abou life

  • Very cathartic. His tunes really scratch off the scabs of old wounds. I love his stuff.

  • I miss you dad.

  • @ Yoshi181313.... I grew up with Toy Story too my friend......except I am 30 now....late bloomer, thats all! :<) Randy is an exceptional musician.

  • How come I'm watching this and I see 3 dislikes!! What the hell is wrong with you. This man's pain is so true, so deep and so relatable. Thankyou Randy. And, I'm so sorry.

  • Love Randy Newman!

  • I love this song

  • It's in toy story 3

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡

  • A new song? Hmm... With all my respect.., but how about "On the nickel" by Tom Waits written and performed 1980?

  • This is my favorite song now!

  • I don't want to carry on, I'm not crying... it's, it's just there's something in my eye

  • My favorite song right now...all categories.

  • Having seen Toy Story 3, this song is so sad, it should have been used in the film.

  • I hate how he starts every song so spontaneously, but his music is incredibly beautiful.

  • This is going to be in Toy Story 3!!!

  • @2010Hershey u know whats dissapointing its not in it once maybe in the credits but i didnt stay for that long.. but its only in the comercial

  • Hey, psychoman, the song is about loss, and grieving, no matter who or what - it tugs at your heart. Just saw Randy play in Glasgow on Mon 17th May and I wept all thru this - just couldn't help it! Sorry for your loss - I have a dog, Bullseye who's 8 now and I dread the day we lose him - so don't feel bad for feeling this way. As a friend of mine said about a pet - "it's another heartbeat in your home" - God bless Randy - love the man and his music!!! xx

  • This song has a pretty special meaning to me. About a month ago i lost my dog because he was hit by a car. In my opinion, he was the best pet you could ask for. I know it sounds kinda ridiculous because people relate to this song when they lost a family member or friend but that dog was important to me. I know i will still have a lot to lose before my life is over but that dog will always be special to me.

  • @psychoman50 It's nice and really good when U talk about sth like that, I'm sorry for your dog mate, rest in dog heaven poor dogggy

  • @BlurryLife thanks a lot man, yea he was pretty important to me and he was one of the smartest dogs i have ever seen. I will miss some of his tricks like when you asked him where is manners were and he would set down or when you said tippy toes he would go up on his back legs and dance around, i will definitely long for those little moments just one more time. I am sure he is running around up in doggy heaven right now.

  • @psychoman50 a loss is a loss dude and im sorry to hear that

  • @psychoman50 It's not rediculous at all. You've lost a good friend and have every right to grieve. Most of us have had pets who have woven their little souls into ours and when they go away, it leaves a wound in our heart and tears in our eyes. So weep when you need to. I weep with you.

  • I saw Randy Newman two days ago in Brussels, it was a wonderful, magic concert. I heard this song for the first time and it touched me so deeply tears came to my eyes. I lost my girlfriend about a year ago to some stupid jerk, and I haven't come over her yet, this song just says it all... Randy you're genious, thanks for all those breathtaking moments and wonderful songs...

  • @MrJackLister

hey can i get the sheet music?

  • Doesn't really sound as good as it does on the album.

  • this song makes me think about life

  • i love toy story cant wait june 15 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cant wait....... so excited.... im goin the day it 1st comes out

  • Amazing songs! Amazing artist!! Amazing man!! Amazing lyrics!! Amazing voice!!!

Randy Newman's music = Pure art!!

  • Thanks for uploading. This song really shows what it is Randy Newman can do. Beautifull litlle melody...

  • Makes me sad :'(

  • tear ; (

  • I really want to learn how to play this on guitar.

  • the chords aren't really that hard

  • this song will be in toy story 3

  • Not true it might be, but I doubt it. Just because its in the trailer doesn't mean it'll be in the movie. This song wasnt writtent for the movie though, which is why I dont think it'll be in it. Pixar only likes to use original songs.

  • this song makes me cry :_)

  • whoah, its so weird to finally see who the person is who is making the music to like my favorite movies that I have watched all my life

  • This song comes out in the Toy Story 3 Trailer!...really amazing movie and Randy Newman is the greatest singer ever! I grew up with Toy Story and im 18 now... i gotta give Randy so much credits for his amazing inspiring songs!

  • me too :)

  • @Yoshi181313 same bro

  • thats the same here "you got a friend in me" makes me almost cry everytime idk why i guess i miss those days or something just something bout that song

  • John Lasseter and Randy Newman are really good friends...

It's funny, they look a lot alike. Newman could easily pass as Lasseter's father, haha.

  • Does anyone think he looks slightly like Harold Bishop?

  • You think he wrote this song for his first wife...?

  • On his website he explains (in a video clip) this song was about an older friend of his that lost his son.

  • @jzerony Odd. In an interview I saw he said it was about the parents of a patient who died of cancer. The patient was his brother's patient. Maybe its a mix of both stories?

  • @madahpesojnothgual True, maybe I believe he is really hiding the true intent of this song......

  • Slightly different lyrics from the album version. I like these better.

I missed hearing the III7 to IV7 progression near the end of the song though. That part on the album version is really nice.

  • yea i like this one too

  • The most beautiful song of his new album Harps & Angels... Ok and "Feels Like Home", just as beautiful!
