  • Your vidios are very useful!

But I'd like you recomend me because I like all of them :)

I will go to NAU the next year! I am an interantional student from Spain and I am 24 years old.

I have seen a international residence but I prefer a room for two people. I´d like a place to live very social but not very noisy. Also I´d like to share the room with people of my age. Could you recommend me which is the best residence for my characteristics?

    Thank you very much!!!

  • does Wilson hall have an elevator?

  • @alissf0507 No.

  • This is really helpfull : ) thnx for posting this, I'm in the midst of appyling there...well thinking of applying there, but I know for sure now that I will!!!

  • @MyQuiteLife - Thanks :) Good luck!

  • So what are the bathrooms like in these halls? i noticed the junior and up halls have bathrooms built into the floor plan, but i cant find floor plans for Allen or any other freshmen. the videos i see have no bathroom in them. how many people share them?

  • @JackGlacialis Freshman halls have community bathrooms shared with everyone on the floor. It's shared between 35-75 people depending on the size of the hall.

  • yep mcconnell hall is really confusing. (i stayed there when i went to volleyball camp). the bathroom separates two hallways at a time but there's three hallways and i'm not sure how it works but you get lost going from the bathroom back to your dorm.

  • hello there, i have question for you. about dorms are you sharing one room with person or is like a apartment each one well have his room ?

  • @mrandyinf

It depends on your academic level. Freshman live with one or two roommates. Sophomores also live with 1 or 2 roommates, but they usually have a kitchen and bathroom. Juniors and higher can live with 3 roommates and have a private room and a bathroom shared with one roommate.

  • This is soooo helpful! Thank you :)

  • @faktORfiktion

I'm glad it helped! Good luck :)

  • hi i am from san diego and i wanted to go there before the deadline to submit my acceptance but i was wondering how much will an airplane ticket cost ? it;s ok if you don;t know and about diversity what percent of hispanics are there in NAU ? thanks for this video :)

  • @pretty3816

A ticket would probably be between $200 and 350 round trip. You could also try the train, if you so like. A little less than 700 of this year's 3800 freshman were Hispanic (roughly 18%) Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

  • I'm a very outgoing person and love having people surround me; however, I don't want to make the mistake of choosig a dorm that will be too noisy. I'm torn between Sechrist and Wilson. From your experiences, what is your preference ?

  • @uhohashh

I think it varies from year to year. Sechrist is definitely a social environment, but it does get nosy quite fast. Wilson is quieter and a bit more relaxed. I would recommend Wilson just for noise control, to be honest.

  • @roxannelovesthestars Does the Cowden Hall Honors Program have any separate requirements that you must meet to be considered for housing?

  • @NoMrHomo

No, but because they're an honors hall, their rules are stricter. To join, you have to agree to follow their policies.

  • Thanks! I wasn't expecting this to help me but it helped a lot.

  • @NoMrHomo

I'm glad it was able to help you!

let me know if you have any questions :)

  • Which Hall would you recommend for an incoming freshman for the fall 2011 semester? I'm attracted to Wilson Hall and Reilly, becuase I've been to Reilly before, and Wilson sounds really nice. I'm also thinking about Tinsley Hall because of the freshman and upperclassmen housing.

  • @CyberChick2011

All the halls are great. I think your major and the type of environment you want play into choosing the hall. Health, Business, Social Sciences, or Engineering majors work best in McConnell. Reilly, Sechrist, and McConnell are known to be louder than Allen, Wilson, or Tinsley. In 2011, Tinsley will be all-freshman (as the university is trying to accommodate the large freshman classes. I think Wilson is a pretty cool hall and my friend who lived there had a pretty big room.

  • What are community bathrooms? How big are Allen's and Wilson's rooms; do they have anything special or are they just bigger rooms? Tinsley gets my attention but which one do you recommend for a freshman?

  • @SlipknotHeadless

Community bathrooms are bathrooms on the floor of each dorm shared by the residents. I do not how specifically big the rooms are but I think Wilson's a pretty comfortable as it used to be an upperclassmen hall. Tinsley is nice as it might be quieter because of upper class students mixed in with new students. I would recommend Allen, but all of them are good.

  • I applied to NAU as a transfer, but what's the best choice in opinion for transfer students?

  • @DorkieConnie sophomore qualify for: Galbadon, which is coed. Morton, and Campbell, which are only open to women. Taylor, open only to men. Aspen, the honors dormitory. Tinsley, which is a freshman/upperclassmen mixed hall. Gillenwater, Mcdonald, Raymond, and Roseberry are all apartment style. if you're a Junior or higher you're also eligible, Pine Ridge Mckay Village. For sophomores I would recommend Galbadon, Raymond, or Mcdonald. I'd pick Pine Ridge or McKay if you're a junior.
  • @roxannelovesthestars Thanks (: I have 2 friends that are sophomores right now & i think they live in Galbadon. I'm actually applying as a transfer from California, but I have no idea if NAU will accept the CSU agreements, but I know they accept the IGETC. From my friends experiences, they love NAU! It seems so nice, but the major problem with me is that NAU is 6 hours from Los Angeles haha. ):

  • @DorkieConnie

Oh, I can understand that. I have some friends from California. They usually take the train when they want to visit back home. NAU should accept you as a transfer as long as you have more than 12 credits, but don't quote me on that.

NAU is really great :) I'm sure you'll like it.

    haha, good luck!

  • @roxannelovesthestars the train? O_O i feel like imma spend a day getting back! haha. Well I'm transfering with 60 complete units at the end of the year, but the thing is, I didn't use the IGETC to transfer, I'm using the CSU agreement, because I cannot complete that extra class for the igetc ):! well hopefulyl I get in! :D btw do you have aim so i can keep in contact with you? :]

  • @DorkieConnie

The train doesn't take too long. I'm not sure exactly the timeline. You'd have to visit the Amtrak site. I'm sure you'll get in. NAU isn't very stingy.

    My AIM is ashesxofalullaby :)

  • Mcconnell is great>? hahaha,, aka McCompton,, it was party city there,, fight every week,, and smell trashiest place ever,, have fun tho,, hahahaa,, REILLY BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyy haha

  • @Micted6

I've never actually been in McConnell, but I can imagine they have their own way about doing things. If I could do it all over again, I'd live in Allen.

  • Actually, Cowden is nothing like what you said.

    It's really lax

  • @mowkneekah

It varies. I never lived in Cowden, so I don't know.

But people who I talked to said it was really strict.

  • do we really have to take NAU 100?

i dont remember what video is it when you said you're going to drop NAU 100.

    thanks

  • @mariflorcaronan

You don't have to take it. I didn't take it because I didn't really feel the need. It's a nice class that helps you adjust to campus, but it isn't really necessary. It does end in October, so that's a benefit if you do take it.

  • lol ok thanks :)

  • ok lol so i wish i would have watched this before submitting my dorm preference lol i think mcconnel was one of the ones i choose lol god lol well thanks :)

  • @gaby7521 oh, don't worry about it! Mcconnell is great, I'm sure. It's just pretty packed (with 800 people) and people stylize it as a jock dorm, but it's on south campus which is really useful for social and behavioral sciences, business, and engineering. In fact, all of my classes are on south campus next year, and I'll be living on North, but Mcconnell has it's own benefits!

  • @naturalandpure I'm glad I could help :) A lot of people have been asking me about the dorms, so I decided to make this with pictures of each dorms lol.
