@nadaboom You can actually work at abercrombie HQ as a college student / model. They hire there for that. But also, it's an attraction for some. You can take a tour and stuff. But business and corp work there too. Just not in such a "cool" area if you will. But yeah it's pretty much for tourists, models, and corp for A&F and Hollister. There's also a bunch more buildings that aren't as attractive lol.
I went to the headquarters recently here in Columbus, Ohio. It's a nice place. I didn't go to the home office, but I went to the Distribution Office where I filled a job application. It's neat that the employees can wear A&F attire along with flip-flops. Since I've had trouble getting hired at the A&F stores, I feel I ought to apply for more positions at the headquarters. It seems to be a nice, fun, comfortable place to work at.
i hope i get to one day work in a setting like this! I work there now and i love it, but its easy to get bored quickly with being a model...the most current tag line SUCKS its awkward to say to anyone but the younger shoppers and even then its still awkward.

I used to work at the RUEHL in San Antonio's La Cantera but i left due to a rumor getting out that I wanted to quit and my hours were cut to 2 days every 2 weeks. But all in all i would love to work at the A&F Campus! I do have several degrees in Graphic design.

I work there it's amazing you have no idea. A video could not do it justice. It's like you are in a movie when you are there. People are just relaxing sitting around ever where like it's a college campus in a movie. People are riding little razor scooter around. Just everything seems so perfect. It's a site to see.
What you see here is the current state of AnF. An independent company running 5 (soon to be four) different brands. It's home office is here in New Albany, OH because the brand AnF was purchased by Limited in the early 90s. Jeffries was put in charge by Wexner (CEO of Limited) to make it what it is today. Needless to say, Jeffries turned it into a success which is why it split off from Limited. It stays in New Albany however because of its roots as part of Limited Brands.

Now, I, personally, shop at Abercrombie all the time, and have no problem with the prices. I think it's annoying when people who have never set foot, let alone wear the clothing, in the store say they absolutely hate it. I think they don't like the reputation it's gotten for itself, a mix between nudity and "over priced clothing".

In my opinion, 'if you being hated, then you must be doing something good.' In that case, Abercrombie & Fitch is always being hated, therefore A&F must be doing really really good.
I love working for the company, made a lot of friends, most of the time it's fun when everyone knows each other, and it really increases the confedence.

Yes, it does mean a lot, because none of my shirts are faded and they're still holding up as if I had JUST bought them.
A&F has earned it's respect in the clothing industry. Most brands, such as American Eagle and Aeropostale are INSPIRED by Abercrombie and its brands. Aeropostale has just recently copied Ruehl's font on their bags.
So, you can keep hating. Abercrombie can keep going without your thirty dollars vs the millions of dollars they make a year in ONE FLAGSHIP ALONE.

Abercrombie was never geared towards kids. The "homoerotic" marketing is nothing more than you will see at the beach. Lots of other companies like Prada, D&G, etc. use "homoerotic" marketing, yet no one is complaining.
It's not the company's fault if "teeny boppers" are attracted to the store. People choose where they want to shop.

I used to work at the RUEHL in San Antonio's La Cantera but i left due to a rumor getting out that I wanted to quit and my hours were cut to 2 days every 2 weeks. But all in all i would love to work at the A&F Campus! I do have several degrees in Graphic design.

Awwh what will happen to Ruehl's signature fragrance? I love this store, can't afford anything they sell though. I think A & F or Hollister should have a line within their store for Ruehl like clothing or the post grad folks, I understand that it won't have the same quality of clothes.

Ruehl is the post-grad/A&F brand for people 22-35 to live the "New York fantasy in Greenwich Village. But sadly, Ruehl is being closed in January 2010 because of the economic environment. A&F meanwhile is opening flagships in upscale Ginza Tokyo, and Milan and Paris!

I work there it's amazing you have no idea. A video could not do it justice. It's like you are in a movie when you are there. People are just relaxing sitting around ever where like it's a college campus in a movie. People are riding little razor scooter around. Just everything seems so perfect. It's a site to see.

What you see here is the current state of AnF. An independent company running 5 (soon to be four) different brands. It's home office is here in New Albany, OH because the brand AnF was purchased by Limited in the early 90s. Jeffries was put in charge by Wexner (CEO of Limited) to make it what it is today. Needless to say, Jeffries turned it into a success which is why it split off from Limited. It stays in New Albany however because of its roots as part of Limited Brands.

One of the most controversial things about Abercrombie, besides the half naked men on the walls of the store, is the price. Now, I, personally, shop at Abercrombie all the time, and have no problem with the prices. I think it's annoying when people who have never set foot, let alone wear the clothing, in the store say they absolutely hate it. I think they don't like the reputation it's gotten for itself, a mix between nudity and "over priced clothing".
