  • Early 90's Honda's used a very similar boot that costs $11 instead of the "universal boot" the dealer wanted $30 for. I used a Civic boot on the rear axle but it is a little short so don't use on the outside front where turning might pull it too tight.

  • will this work for my 04 model? I have a rear outer boot torn and want to fix it before snow starts flying.

  • hell yeah man thanks i was wondering about how to get the boot on! how did you tighten the clamp? it was a bitch i used a old pair of kleins i modded.

  • my friend is looking for a replacement front end for his polaris sprotsmant 500. the storage cointer and front end is cracked u no how he could get another one??

  • I heard your not supposed to jack up the quad when doing this, because the shaft could break off in the diff. I think that's a load of crap, but who knows?

  • hey i have a honda rancher 400 2003 i ripped my front boot and now my front end is clunking when in reverse does that mean i need to replace my whole cv joint or can i get away with booting it and greasing it? thanks..

  • @dukedog232 same problem with mine . You have a bad cv joint. just ride it until it locks up then get the rebuild kit for $85-90 or if you really want spend the extra $100 & get a new half shaft

  • doese the cv boot or any other cv or axel part break easy or often thanks in advanace

  • so you don't have to remove the snap ring to take the cv jonint off the axle? just pound it off. so how do you put it back together?? pound it back on?? thanks,

  • @mik2224 yes dud simple as that =)

  • thanks i looked for a snap ring for an hour, pulled, pushed, twisted and you answered my question in 4 minutes.

  • glad i could help!!

  • did you take off your hub when you changed your boot.i assume you did.dealership told me not too, there was another way.just wondering what it would be.

  • you can take the strut right off, but i took the hub apart to clean the bearings and the cv joint.
