  • Them 2 guys r sexy lol

  • too homo, bring oon the bitches!

  • is there a name for the music in this

  • I'll never tire of watching this....

  • amazing how they can move so gracefully. wow! wish i could dance like that.

  • You can't defeat a black

  • Comment removed

  • I can do this too....... Hold my beer

  • Hey do they have mics on the floor? How do they get the acoustics of tap clicks and whatnot?

  • @johntkooz For this number, they mic the stage because it's all danced live as opposed to the other numbers that are for the most part prerecorded.

  • I saw this years ago when I was kid in St. Louis. What beautiful memories this brings back! I started taking Irish Dancing lessons because of this!

  • This is wonderful!

  • Just watch this with awe.....it is worthy of this!...such talent!

  • so many layers of rad.

  • @jacobbarba haha! this is so much more entertaining than this acting film was watching. such clean dancing. I like the violin.

  • Stroll on, what a show!

  • First off "Riverdance" is not a type of dance its the name of the company that tours and does Irish dance. So do not use oh she does riverdance or oh look at that riverdancing, it ticks off us irish dancers

  • I prefer the original style with the 3 dancers...

  • Wildly entertaining! Absolute love it!

  • The one main Irish tap dancer is freaking cute.

  • that guy on the sax is a BOSS!! it sounds just so clean lol

  • Does someone know where this show was and when was it?

  • @J3X3R When I saw it, it was Riverdance on Broadway in NYC. It had to back in 1999 maybe 2000 I think.

  • Now add some Flamenco dancers what fun that would be.

  • @NoldorianElf I was thinking that too. LOL. It's interesting to see how tapp dancing developed in different parts of the world with various styles.

  • @NoldorianElf Actually in the entire performance of this show there is flamenco dancing

  • again gald to see good things in the world,

dancing,,, my ex kathy webb ran off to smoke crack i wish she learn to dance insteadbiggs

  • Fine art. Beautifuly and perfectly performed. Happy are those who live off their passions.

  • ONE SIDE is tap, the other is irish. The ones who started out are tap dancing, hence the loose upper form and general forward facing steps. The ones who come in are irish dancing, hence the rigid upper form, and general sideways facing steps.

  • this is tap, not step dance.

  • where can i find more music like the saxophone solo at the start? is it jazz? because it's great!

  • @k3n12345678987654321 Yes, it's smooth jazz. /watch?v=V9Wme-9kwAw

  • I am irish and i think the black fella who done the back flips was legendary .... put him into the next riverdance tour ..... the mans great

  • They're so graceful like deer! It's kinda cute :D

  • Love it!

  • ITS GOOD WHEN PEOPLE ARE GIVEN A FAIR CHANCE,,,

  • HEY AGAIN WE ALL ARE BLACK WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE OFF, DANCE DANCE,

  • They sure like making fish faces

  • @EmeraldIsleStar I realize that they are all pro dancers in a theme show. I have seen the Irish step dancers several times. There is at least one Black step dancer in an Irish line up and he is very good. I appreciate both styles of dance, but not together. Yes, it is entertaining, but i'm more of a purist. I don't like the "kumbaya" approach. However, I realize many people did enjoy this show because of the story. Sadly, too many commentors below cannot disagree without being racist about it.

  • this is siiiiiiick

  • I realize this was only entertainment. But, American street tap dancers battling with Irish step dancers? Street tap dancers are good with their feet, but flamboyant with their arms. In a real competition, the judges would probably not choose the street dancers. Step dancers have more control. Though all of these dancers have fast feet, the styles are too different. My comment has nothing to do with race. There are excellent Black step dancers and White street tap dancers. Racism is for idiots.

  • breathtaking

  • black and whit dancing not bad

  • Wow, I remember watching this on VHS a LONG time ago!

  • @voxadvt30 I know right. Im gonna go find find both the vhs and vhs player and watch it again. :D

  • a!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why can we all just get along...? is this video about, luv it !:)

  • Okay;;

    1) This is Tap Dancing

    2) It's not called 'Riverdancing' it's called 'Irish Dancing.'

Calling it Riverdancing would be like calling a Ballerina a Swan Laker! :)

  • @cassidyoluv Swan Laker...love your explanation.

  • @cassidyoluv

River Dance is the name of one of Michael Flatleys shows, not the name of the dance -.-

  • This is actually Bill Whelan's show. Michael Flately is just one of the choreographers and one of the first lead dancers

  • @cassidyoluv its the type of show and its irish not tap

  • @MsHihihi111 It's both

  • @MsHihihi111 it's both

  • @cassidyoluv

How does it come then that the original VHS i got, were this clip is from is called "Lord of the dance: Riverdance"? ,right..the producers of this worldwide shows show are mistaking :P

  • @Sizzlik then the people who made the VHS are wrong cause this isn't lord of the dance, this is from the 1996 NY show of riverdance the only connection to lord of the dance this has is the fact Michael Flatley was one of the producers and he was once the main dancer of the show.

  • @cassidyoluv river dancers call it "riverdancing"

  • @TheTikvah Please tell me your kidding. "river dancers" ARE Irish dancers. "Riverdance" was an Irish stepdancing show and now many people wrongly refer to Irish Dancing as such.

  • @cassidyoluv Yes thank you!!!!!!

  • @cassidyoluv the main irish dancer is from Michael Flatley's team

  • versuch mal

    clipr.eu

  • triple like!!!!

  • @94MissIndependant

    You do irish step dancing?

  • my ankles hurt

  • @94MissIndependant if nothing else... use realplayer to rip the sound from the video

  • Their are awesome:-D

  • Riverdancing is Irish moron this is just Tap Dancing

  • @horsesaremylife31899

    yeah right my thoughts exactly

  • arnt they TAP dancing NOT RIVER dancing

it s tap againts river dancing

  • @allsites36

Its tap verus irish dancing ,,,,Riverdance is the name of a show ,it is NOT a type of dance ,,,ffs!

  • @allsites36

There is NO dance called riverdance ,,,,there is a show CALLED riverdance which features irish dancing ,,,,the above clip is irish step danceing(a type of irish dance ) and tap danceing ,,,,,,

  • arnt they TAP dancing NOT RIVER dancing

  • cool beanz :D

  • standing ovation

  • @acechadwick I think his name is Tarik Winston.

  • black guys always move better, more coordinated... it's one of their talents

  • this is riverdance not lord of the dance !

  • Does anyone know the name of the amazing black dancer. I mean they're all amazing but flippin' heck...he looks like he's jet propelled!!

  • @acechadwick

    Tarik Winston.

  • proud to b irish

  • soprano sax

  • What type of sax is that?

  • this video?the gayest dance off ever!!!!but i've watched it 8 times,God help me!!

  • This isn't from Lord of the Dance... but what IS it from?

  • @sterling32157 ya it is lord of the dance, its like a side act. god ehh :)

  • @sterling32157 Riverdance, they had to change alot of their format after Michael Flatley left because much of their show was based on his concept. So they started adding a few new acts but the same basic idea.

  • @sterling32157 Riverdance

  • It's a tap show....This is not River, or as most people say it, True Irish Dance....

  • @KRIZMIX if you had watched the whole video instead of cutting it short anf commenting youd see it turns into riverdance at 2:25

  • this show is amazing!! i went to it last year. my fav part was 3:25. thumbs up if you agree!

  • It's at times like these I wish I hadn't given up Irish Dancing...

  • 5:05 In slick-soled tap shoes... HOW?!?!

  • What a joy to watch

  • Wow..................................

  • BLACK PEOPLE CAN DANCE! WOOHOO!

  • iz fishy lips!

  • i can remember the first time i watched this, i was 2 coz i was being filmed haha

and to this day i still think its amazing and im 15 :)

  • Now THIS is what I call dance-off.

  • Oohh! you got served!

  • Wonderful! Hadn't seen this in years--what a joy!

  • There were several times through this video where I just went "Sh*t! Did he just do that?!" It's amazing, I love it!

  • i laughed so hard when they were impersonating the irish dancers haha his face!!

  • colin dunne, far superior to michael flatley i reckon

  • @irishslingo i agree!

  • awesome!!!

  • The directer was very creative with this piece I give the director and dancers and music players two thumbs up

  • Ha, what's with the korean subtitles?

  • great video thanks for sharing x

  • This is probably the coolest video I have randomly come across on youtube. I love both step dancing and tap dancing and seeing them done together is very interesting. Though they may look different as styles, it's nifty that you can create the same rhythm through both dance styles as long as it is timed right. As long as you pay close attention to the rhythm of both styles, you can tell that their stepping is pretty much the same.

  • Is this, realy River Dance vs Lord Of The Dance???

  • @SubZero1402 this is riverdance. riverdance is about the irish moving through out the world told through dance. there are many different ethic dances in riverdance, and american tap is one of them :)

  • its Colin Dunne! gosh i love him

  • ITS COLIN DUNNE!!!! ahhh i love him

  • ITS COLIN DUNNE!!!!!!!! ahhh i love him

  • They are five very gorgeous men!!

  • estes karas dançam pra caramba , parabens

  • Lesbian hate what?

  • who ever is talkin bout racism !! really !!! ???? come on

both these type of dance are great in their own way !!

  • this is amazing!!!! I admire them.

  • it seems to me that irish step dancing like river dance is more on the tips of the toes and that jazz tap is focused on the balls of the feet can someone who is more knowledgeable about dance help enlighten me

  • Saw Riverdance live in Dublin when I was in Ireland, WOW, just WOW.

  • who cares about any of that, the chick of the fiddle rocks!

  • I love the playfulness of their "battle" :)

    Such talent!! And quite entertaining~

  • This is quite entertaining, watching them trying to out do each other and then laughing and joking with each other and then dancing together. Great to see to different styles of dancing together tho =)

  • rembinho, the comparison of dance is only secondary. its about the irish migrating to america and how both races were oppressed at that time. the whole show is about different races . and also the period in wich the show is set in was when white americans couldn't dance tap. get some knowlege, your lack culture and or knowledge on this topic is offensive.

  • thank you for sending this video, i love dancing and love river dance. reminds me of the film white nights. fosterfields, linda

  • WHO GIVES A GOOD GODDAMN! IRISH! RIVER!

Just Enjoy The Video! This is about the dance and the fun. Imagine how joyous the practices were leading up to this performance...I wish I could have been there as they set up the routine.

  • from your lips to God's ears. Beautiful.

  • It pains me to see that something so simple has to be betrayed on here as something racist. When are we going to learn that we all inhabit this small planet and the sooner we get along, the better we will be?

  • Black people are banned from Irish dancing...

  • @lKingCodyl

    bro, go somewhere else...

  • @drakesha No "Bro" you think that black people have most of the culture and historical books taken up? Hell no. Now you stfu and stop commenting on a simple joke.

  • Riverdance and Lord of the dance are 2 completely different shows!!! Change the name of the video!! This is riverdance.....a much better show!!!

  • Ughhh please change the name this has absolutely NOTHING to do with lord of the dance!!!

  • How beautifully awesome! The two styles coming together and meshing so well. I loved it! They looked as though they were having fun.

  • @rannedwards

The expressions on their faces told me that the dance was characterised to look like a friendly fun-fooling competition, where in the end, everyone was a winner for simply being who they are :o)

  • @Ignauhak I couldn't have said it better!

  • @rannedwards Thank you :o)

  • je veux un danseur comme ça !

  • The scene is form River Dance ,

Lord of Dance is another Show.

  • lol even the Violinist vs the Saxophonist XD

  • SONUVA FRAKKIN' AWESOME!

  • If you listen closely the rhythm of the taps that Colin Dunne and his fellow dancers do is very similar to the rhythm of the tap dancers' steps.

This is one of my favorite dances from this show. It celebrates America as The Melting Pot and beautifully shows how well cultures can work together when they recognize their common ground.

  • @potomusicfan4ever You're a romantic. Well said.

  • EPICNESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • I just saw the riverdance on ice special on nbc today. They showed a version of tap vs riverdance. This version was wayyyy better.

  • Now, if this was how gangs had a rumble, they could charge admission and get rich!

  • @absue LOL, so true.

  • @absue LOL, so true. I'd definitely pay it.

  • @chefbee70

Are you sure it was gum at not foreskin?

  • What most of you don't realize is the two dancers are what is known as Black Irish-lol

  • @WILTALK LOL. You are so funny. I loved this.

  • 4:00 the violinist looks at them like "do it properly"

  • Just Fantastic! All about moving this amazing human body we've been given.

  • @SuperGroundControl O__O................

  • @SuperGroundControl You are so right, we need to appreciate the multi-faceted organ we were blessed with. Now I don't respect baseball, basketball, football with regards to one individual receiving $20 million for playing a game they would play on the weekend, when art and individual achievement such as this is worth so much more. The insurance alone on their feet is $20 million. philqns@yahoo.com

  • Defintely .. will be in my favorites ... un duel dance is peaceful and BEAUTIFUL!

  • So wonderful to see these different styles together. Each has its own grace and beauty.

  • I really can't tell what kind of sax that is... a soprano sax doesn't have a bell, and that is WAY too small to be an alto...

  • Riverdance... not Lord of the Dance...

    but whatever YAAAY

  • I would love to have an ounce of the talent that any of these guys have!

  • @meyer537 Agreed!!

  • I love the tricks the two darker guys can do. I would never be able to do that without hurting myself xD I love this clip since I was a very little girl.

  • wow,wow,wow!!! :)

  • Whats all with the seriousness!!!!!

Damn the ones r stiff the others aren't but their both the shit!!!!!

    So calm down DAMN!!!!!

    =)

  • Racist??? Some people are just jaggoffs looking for something to be self righteous about. This has nothing to do with race. If you are able to pay attention past the black guys and white guys, it's about difference, fun and mutual respect.

  • I've seen the Riverdance Battle live. It has nothing to do with race. Both were born from peoples who lived under oppressive conditions. Bit it's really all about being dazzled by the masters of two similar dance forms showing off the similarities and differences of their chosen styles. This is about their athleticism, their showmanship, their versatility and the sheer elegance and beauty of their individual art forms. Bravissimo!

  • im sorry, im white, but black people always own white people

  • tap dance version of "You Got Served"?

  • This isn't from Lord of the Dance, it's the Riverdance.

  • XD awesome love them!!!! such great dancing skillss

  • Fantastic dancing. Has anyone noticed the similarity to "The Dance in the Gym" from West Side Story.... ie the competition

  • MAN! That guy can DANCE!!!Like to see him and Michael have it out!!!:D

  • Both dances are great. such engery...reminds me of the movie, White Nights, tap;fosterfields

  • @fosterfields Isn't that the movie with Mikhail Baryshnikov?

  • Ths is part of Riverdance! and not Lord of the Dance

  • hehe, looks like there having fun xD

  • River dancing....vs tap dancing.....two different dance styles, why battle the two out????
