I saw Lars' dad, Torben, standing right next to me as the show was starting. Almost went and shook his hand, but thought that might be a bit intrusive.
well they get there clean from there emg 60 and for distortion they use the 81 and the guitar techs are either hitting a distortion pedal or hitting a amp setting to change it
if they are this good on the first show of the tour,watch the fuck out. This could re-define their abilities as a live band after some rough years. It will be #15 and # 16 live for me and I can't wait.
i think he switched to a guitar thats standerd so it would be like on the album and he hardly sings on that part so idk maybe he broke a string cause i dont think kirk changed guitars

how do they switch from clean to distorted sound with just the pickup selector...???

They don't. They only switch pick ups manually. The distortion/clean tones are controlled off stage by their guitar techs.

ahh i see, pretty neat work by the guitar techs.. i can imagine what james would do if they messed up (which they dont obviously)..haha.

I'm continually amazed at Lars' lack of progression as a drummer. That being said, the song is really good.
