Duke Nukem Forever was awesome. Slightly modern? Yes, but very old school as well. And, if you got the PC version, you had a good framerate, fast loading textures, quicker load times, and no screen tearing. Oh, and a KB/M setup, thus multiplying it's quality over 9000 times.
