OMG!! We saw him perform this live in Christchurch Town Hall in New Zealand, simply indescribable - superb does not even begin to describe the performances by this man
This coming July, from the 23rd to the 31st, the beautiful medieval Tuscan village of Pietrasanta will host the IV edition of "Pietrasanta in Concerto".
Nine exhilarating nights in the intimate cloister of Sant' Agostino where enjoy the music of leading artists such as Martha Argerich, Vadim Repin, and Boris Berezovsky, and the opening piano duo of Itamar Golan and Bishara Harouni!

Fantastic stuff! This video has certainly sold me the recording, and I noticed Sennheiser get a (not so) subtle plug there as well... I have those headphones and they are brilliant.
He is so amazing. So much fire and energy in his playing paired with the finesse and interpretational genius like the players of old. He is the Heifetz of today.
@poxolo30 In this piece here yes, though he is generally more intense than Oistrakh. And I reckon it is quite sufficient for him to be the Vadim Repin of today!!
another amazing thing is that he married a ballerina, the mega- star Svetlana Zakharova. needless to say.....

Repin is great, but I think Milstein's performance is better.

At this moment, Vadim plays (magnificently!) on a 1736 Guarneri del Gesu violin.
