Without Randy there wouldnt be a Jake...Not a Jake as we know it...both guitar players are amazing...Randy is more of a legend though because of his untimely death...I like both players...I like Tony's rhythm (and rhythm lead) guitar in Sabbath..his lead is wack though...Tony was a trail blazer as was Randy...Jake basically made the path look more polished and pretty.

@spinvilchy Okay when you use the word "heavy" you're probably thinking of guitar tone. In reality, the lyrics and musicality from Blizzard and Diary are alot heavier than any of his albums. Suicide Solution and Diary of a Madman are perfect examples of how much depth the relaitonship between Ozzy's lyrics and Rhandy's guitar work was. And as for the whole showmanship aspect in previous statements, that should be the last part of the equation. Rhandy was years ahead of his time in skill and tech

Tony Iommi is the father of heavy rhythm riffs, he is the undisputed, undefeated champion. Randy Rhodes is the unbeaten, untied champion of Metal lead guitar. Nothing approaches these 2 guys. without Tony and Randy, Jake doesnt exist as you know him now. The goal of music is play something that ppl want to hear, not to go up there and show everyone how technically great you are.
