  • Jeet Kundo meant "intercepting fist" and that's exactly what he did. He taught himself to not be hit, either by using offense or dodging because he was a master in speed. These MMA fighters can talk all this shit now because he's dead, I'd would have loved to see them talk this shit when he was alive. Don't be fooled by the fact he was in hollywood

  • Bruce lee hands down. "Oh, he wasn't a proffesional fighter." So the fuck what?! Read up on him and you'll learn he fought street fights with no rules and no points, both fighters and gang members and always won. The guy was so intelligent when it came to fighting (not just philisophically) because that's what his passion was. The man was in better shape than any fucken MMA fighter could hope of and not to mention he was so quick that it would be ridiculous watching him fight an MMA fighter

  • Bruce was always learning, at both their primes Bruce woulda ate him up, you don't have to see Bruce fight to believe he is good, just like you don't need to see air to breathe...you just know. The answer is not " if he can win " it's " in what way will he win "

no rules baby..you better believe it..

  • This is stupid but Bruce Lee would win because when Bruce Lee was alive Coung Le was a little boy. Now if Bruce Lee was alive today he would train the same way as any MMA fighter does and he would fight in his own weight division and would never compete against Coung Le anyway

  • Bruce Lee was a great Martial Artist. I bet he was a great fighter given his knowledge. I own the Tao of Jeet Kune Do. There's good stuff in there on Martial Arts philosophy and tips on fighting. He was in phenomenal shape and trained with some of the best Martial Artists and fighters of his era. But he personally did not compete professionally. None of us have seen him in a real fight , only movies. Friends say he was good but there's no proof. Cung Le proved how good he is in competition.

  • I like Bruce Lee but he would most-likely lose against most MMA fighers. These guys fight for a living and they know more grappling then Bruce Lee ever did. Japanese Jiu-jitsu is not as superior as BJJ which focuses more on ground work. Even western wrestling- which is old as hell- is not the same as maybe 20 years ago. Everything evolves.

  • @ikebanaJc lose against most mma fighters ? you have no idea what your talking about. bruce lee was in better shape than any mma fighter i mean any. the man had the lowest percentage of body fat ever tested and was a raw peice of muscle. he would be stronger and faster than any mma fighter in his weight class. he would dance circles around any mma fighter his size and weight today. and brazilian jujitsu was made from japanese jujitsu. both have ground, bruce lee was well trained in jujitsu

  • Bruce wins in movie

    Cung wins in real life!

  • Bruce of course.

  • bruce fought in the street with no rules like in mma. he would severely hurt someone like rampage if he learned their fighting styles and grappling. no contest.

  • cung le's mother could defeat bruce lee

  • @Hugoj33 hahaha i dont doubt it she was a tough cookie

  • bruce lee was just way too quick for anyone as soon as they would advance to him , there would have been about 20 hits and you and or chung le would have woken up in hospital! all you mma/ ufc wannabe's just dont know the real impact of what bruce lee's hits were like and howfast they were!besides mma/ufc has rules and regulations ina real fight bruce lee would own every single one of them within a blink of an eye! ufc/pride is for pussies!

  • Bruce was a great martial artist but was more dedicated to acting,Cung lives and breathes combat,Cung would Knock him out, and i do think its childish to compare the 2

  • @adrian14643 Not true. Bruce was a martial artists who happend to be offered the chance to act.

  • if bruce came back from the dead i'd say a year of getting used to all the new stuff that has been put together and he could fight for a title. he had amazing strength, speed and conditioning. add that onto the lifetime of martial arts, some grappling and a very good stand up game. all he'd need is a year to get the other stuff down and he'd be incredible in mma. but i guess it was after his time :(

  • how can the inventor of mma lose in an mma fight

  • idiots, bruce lee was a martial artist and actor, not a mixed martial artist, the only reason you idiots like to compare them is because they have the same last name and they are both asians, cung lee already has 1 lost, he is no bruce lee, bruce lee has no loses because he never competed

  • @MobiusX they're both have different last name..... Cung LE it's L and E......... bruce Lee..... it's L and Double E.. cung le is real vietnamese...and bruce lee is chinese..... totally different .... .. vietnamese and chinese people r never get alone just to let you know......whenever you see these 3 last name ( LE , Nguyen , and tran) ..they're real vietnamese...these 3 are the most popular vietnamese last name.... it's "Lê Cung " that's how u write it in vietnamese.

  • just look at the gloves when hes fightting samo lol them gloves are what he used to train with his students, and no one can say they dont look like the ufc or mma gloves used today lol , but does anyone talk about who came up with them gloves first NO, they just say ohhh but he made it out of kendo gloves, yeah he did but no one had the idea to do that, its only cuz bruce lee wanted to make MMA (MIXED MARTIAL ARTS) grappleing with punching or locks or kicks or chokes lol so it speaks for it self

  • people have to understand when man made the wheel they made the car, well when bruce training eg weight training cardio conditioning trapping locks judo THEN mma was born.

mma fighters are training like he was like 35 years ago lol just have to look at any boxer in bruce lees years and your see they all look out of shape and flabby, none was conditioned and no one had the brains to do it accept bruce lee.

just look at ufc gloves or mma gloves lol now look at the ones in bruce lees movielol

  • Here how the fight would go down in real life. Bell rings, both fighters cautiously engage, Bruce tries some of his fancy sidekicks to keep Cung at a safe distance. Both fighters circles and jab at air trying to gauge the timing. Bruce attacks only to be countered by one of Cung's Leg kicks which hurts more than expected. Seeing his opponent in pain, Cung expodes with punches and drives his opponent back. More punches and elbows from mounted postion. Fight ends in GnP at 0.58sec of the 1rd.

  • cung le wins....no fucking doubt

  • Cung would win definitely in the ring due to his size and strength. In street fight, i don't really know what will happen. Maybe Bruce since he might have tricks from his experience (throat slash, kick to the 'small brother' etc.

You guys just idolize Bruce since he is the 1st performer of martial art.

  • Cung Le would win whether in or out the ring. Sorry, but bruce has no chance.

  • Pound 4 pound, would Bruce Lee be the winner, no questions there at all. But in the ring, sry but Cung Lee is a too strong and heavy fighter, Bruce woulden't have any chance at all.

  • What? Are you kinda insane my buddy? He doesn't need to pick someone up, so weight isn't a factor except into the force behind a hit. However, the sucker was super fast. Jabs at 8 thousandths of a second?

Kicks that return to stance at the same speed of kicking? Thats insane. However though, I don't know how well is his Stamina and Endurance, so if Cung ever caught one of his kicks and made him fell...

I wonder would it Hurt bruce. We will never know.

  • Bruce was probably the fastest punch/kicker ever in martial arts and if you own the Tao of Jeet Kune Do, you know that Bruce knew Jiu-jitsu and Judo techniques. I believe this isn't even fair because Bruce would totally dominate.

  • I'm a huge fan of Bruce Lee. But let's be realistic. Cung Le is a professional fighter. He outweighs a prime Bruce by about 50 pounds. Bruce did have skills and was very athletic but there's no way to determine how fast he was. Noone can say who the fastest Martial Artist is. Cung knew just about everything Bruce did and his fighting style isn't theory it was used on professional opponents. That's the difference between them. But I do think Bruce could give anyone a good fight.

  • @MasterExploder6, Sorry, but that wasnt real jiujitsu, lmfao...... And they were his own takes on judo throws.

  • bruce would be like around 70 years old if he was still alive lol

  • brad sucks + bruce lee= holy shit thats epic :)

  • that bruce didnt have any takedown defense or grappling skills especially being his size..he knew the fight game alright (in big boss, the end fight he filmed the first ground and pound clip)

when the gracies let the cat out of the bag, then all of a sudden everyone (who wasnt a real fighter) was surprised about how important the ground game is, goes to show how advance bruce was...If cung le was in his prime in the same era as bruce cung would have no chance, bruce here now, speed kills.

  • listen you guys, you dont have to comptete to prove you are the best, its a fact, the gracies never competed pro before they came on the scene in UFC, but they were the best still (back then)..

people dont know that real fighters knew the ground game was important way back (i.e soldiers, police men etc) thats why they always trained to tie people up in a struggle and of course bruce knew that too..street fights can end up on the ground, bruce being a street fighter, do people honestly think =>

  • no offence i lik E Bruce. but one thing dude, i don't trust Japanese or chinese fighters in the MMA OR UFC or any Professional fighting anymore. because they suck for real Yo!!!!!!!!!!!. i lost my money everytime i bet on them. BUT!!!!!!!!! this is truth, u should look around do some research. i think that " Thai, viet, and philliines" have the best asian fighters dude!!!!!..................... ........ i am not kidding.....

  • 6266186 , you'r fucking mentally retarded that's y u post dumb ass topic.

i like both alot, a 2 years old kid can tell u that CUng would win beacuse he's a "experienced champ", way bigger and stronger.

  • You see these beautifully coreographed films fighting and blocking for 5 min. straight without anyone getting hit, a real fight wouldn't last that long no matter who u r. Bruce Lee fought his movies like u would a real fight. Some of them kinda bored me. I like long coreography in fights. Bruce destroyed his opposition in know time.

  • i have much respect for bruce lee for teaching us the importance of cross training and physical training. his philosophies and teachings are timeless.

but to say he's some kind of invincible streetfighting machine isnt accurate.

its insulting to bruce lee and cung le when people ask stupid questions like this and even more dumb fucks go on here spouting nonsense.

RIP Little Dragon, im sorry you have so many ignorant fans after your death.

  • @donisthabomb1 it's childish. It is one thing to sit down and compare the careers and styles of fighters, examine the data, their attributes, and another entirely to engage in a discussion that is really no more than "my dad could kick your dad's ass".

I understand having fun, but when the replies or no more intelligent than "well, he knows ninjitsu and tae know do!", what little enjoyment there was evaporates and is replaced by stupefaction.

  • @donisthabomb1 so who would win bruce or cung?

  • @donisthabomb1 I agree. Bruce was a phenominal innovator. But Hollywood took him to god like status. There are folks today that say Bruce would beat all the MMA greats today. That's bullshit and a half. Bruce would do extremely well in his weight class but let him fight a Anderson Silva, Cung Le, ...These folks get hit with sledge hammers and fight to almost the death. We have evidence of what the MMA greats can do. The only thing we have of Bruce are what his friends say about him.

  • i hate how people say bruce lee was the greatest streetfighter of all time, its very funny actually. no one has ever seen him fight. although he was a real martial artist with real skills. im sure he could kick most of the average guy's ass, but i hate how people will blindly say shit like he's virtually invinsible and best at streetfighting. seriously, how do u train to eye gouge? u eyegouge ur partner?

and its easy for the bruce fans to argue because he's dead so theres no way to prove it

  • I agree. Bruce Lee was probably the best during his film career. But to say he is STILL the best ever i wouldn't agree. I'm sure he could beat the average joe, but it's so many good martial artist out there they would have to fight for real to know the truth. We'll never know now.

  • Not really. Bruce le is different from Jacky chen and jet le. He is a real fighter, not as other two who are mainly martial art performers. If you go to wikipedia, and see the Fight section, you can see his achievements in champions and street fights.

Dan Inosanto said, "there's no doubt in my mind that if Bruce Lee had gone into pro boxing, he could easily have ranked in the top three in the lightweight division or junior-welterweight division.

  • well Dan was his friend and student, of course he would praise bruce to the highest extent.

and checking wikipedia for his achievments is like checking youtube for facts.

Im not sure if bruce ever fought any real fighters or anything. maybe he did, maybe he didnt. but u cant possible think he'd be some great fighter just because he was great back then when everyone was still clueless.

Kareem abdul jabaar aint dunkin on shaq or yao ming today.

  • Here's the rating between both of them in my view in a scale of 1 through 10.

    Bruce = 15 (LOL!)

    Cung = 7

Why a 7, because this sucker haven't prove himself with top MMA fighters yet. I like to see him go up against Rich, Dan, and then Anderson! lol

  • Bruce never formed his martial arts for SPORT FIGHTING ENTERTAINMENT, his style is for Real Life Street Fighting, its about survival.

He'll punch cung le in the nuts if the opportunity presents itself, and poke him in the eyes,, and this is not even using bruce's real skill...

Cung Le is a sports fighter, and im sure a good street fighter too.... BUT he is 80% or more a SPORT FIGHTER, so dont compare apples and oranges, the skills trained are different..

  • ok lets keep it real foolz anit NOBOBY like Bruce Lee!

  • can't compare. different weight class. it's like putting Tyson up against Sugar Ray Leonard. also, agree with others... different era.

  • nice for entertainment. bt if u wanna have some idea of bruce lee's speed strength & balance, just go to wikipedia and have a look on lee's physical feats.

cung le nno doubt is a great fighter. bt comparing a great fighter with the GOD is nothing more than a shit.

i bet cung le woudnt even judge lee's strikes, let alone tolerating them.....

  • yes I strongly agree with you sir, its just like comparing da vinci with picasso...one is a Great person who made martial art as a way of life, whose philosophy of fighting is based on application in reality, survival on the streets, fucos on effectiveness rather than effeciency, adaptability vs techniques, belts are good only for holding your pants, labels as worthless which give people false confidence.

While the other is best at his style of fighting, Fights and values Championship belts...

  • realistically we can't compare the 2 because they are from different era. Let them be where they are. Bruce the Father MMA and Cung the Champ.

For purpose of fantasy, anything outside the ring goes to Bruce (biting, scratching, etc) no matter who he fights.

  • Bruce and Cung both great fighters. I have a feeling that even if Bruce loses to Cung he's only gonna learn from it and come back stronger and stronger. Reading Bruce's philosophy and the amount of research he put into different arts as well the effort he put into conditioning, he has a chance of losing to Cung in the ring but has a bigger chance of killing Cung outside of the ring. Nuff said. Peace

  • you will never ever say the words "bruce loses" let me make it clear BRUCE LEE IS A GOD!
