I saw this yesterday in Holland. The translation was done perfectly. I found this play really wonderful, and I got really really really emotional... I felt so angry with the guy... The last song especially made me cry, since she is still in love with him (in the end after she got the letter) and he cheats on her... and she does not know that and it felt as if she still thinks he will come back or something... :(

in the last song, she is at the end of their first date and he is at the end of their marriage, in the first song he is after their first date and she is at the end, finding the letter. she knows he cheated. She sings " go and find something better!" I am stage managing this show and we have dissecting the script! i hope this helps you lone the show even more! its an amazing musical!

Very nice video indeed. Nice to see how you placed Jamie and Cathy in a large and expensive house uptown Manhattan. I thougt it just was an apartement right tere on seventy third ;).

I'm still wondering if the play really needs backdrops. In Holland they did it too, but I think the music (and acting) on itself could (should) be powerfull enough to make its point. Projections just might attract attention, or not... ? Just wondering about that...

cool! thanks for watching! my feeling was that the backdrops blended with the action on stage. my goal was not to distract. the house here is downtown- washington square to be exact. and remember, we did it in hong kong where the audience didnt know the layout in new york. the building was chosen for its outside character and visual appeal, the set had a simple stoop that also doubled as the warf. thanks again for your comments!

Yeah. Well I took a course at HK3AMI, and I know there's a cantonese rock musical of Othello going on in the summer, but I won't be there for it Dx And HKYAF probably did something. But I never get into HKYAF because I'm not a very good dancer.

i'm a set designer but also a performer. sometimes i do graphic designs as well. i like to learn more about projections in designs because i've never designed any projections myself but it's great to combine that kind of technology into set designs. so thanks!
