African Grey Parrot Connecting Two Toys Together

I just had this wild vision of a factory employing dozens of African Greys to assemble consumer electronics. :-)

That is ONE clever parrot!

I have a cockatiel now, which I adore, but my plan is to expand my bird family with an African Grey next year. The only question is Timneh or Congo variety..

And I've seen both Greys and Macaws make 'soup' by dunking their dry pellet feed in water. That's a beginning level of being a chef. With training, no telling what these parrots can do!

@basspig lol they are pretty smart. I have a congo myself.

The food in the water isn't because they're making soup though, birds dip or soak hard foods in water to help soften them because they do not have saliva to do it for them. (they do ot have saliva because it would ruin their feathers when preening. )

Ha i wouldnt expect my congo to do that, But he does know enough to wet hard foods to get them soft lol

aww my grey has got 2 ring toys which she puts inside each other to make a ball, so clever and fascinating!
