Saw them open for The Horrors a few months ago in Dallas. They blew me away. My jaw was on the floor for their entire set. Can't wait to see what's next!
Its like Funk had sex with Shoegaze and this was the offspring. I dig it. If you dont like it why do you watch it and then waste more energy by commenting how you dont like it? Pathetic. Music snobs, its not Burger King, you cant have it your way.... Namaste
Really cool different track, better than the majority of shit nowadays. Kinda reminds me of early Floyd with a modern production. Props to Stones Throw for getting this out there.
ALmost cool, but it's just too boring, and lacking in energy. Needs a more energetic drum beat or something, this guy just hits the drums like someone with chronic wasting syndrome or something. I saw them live, hoping that the album just had a more subdued sound, but it was just as boring in real life as in the album versions of the songs. I do think it's cool that they're bringing this sound back, but get some f'n energy already. I think a good producer would tell them this.
@jeb419 not every song has to be about energy. if you're looking for energy, go listen to some uptempo music. obviously they're not looking for a heavy drum beat or a driving guitar.
you can't dance to it, sing to it, or get and real emotion from it. I thought those were the only rules to music... why did spin magazine like this so much? Then again, I gues skrillex WAS on this month' cover. I'm not falling for this lazy crap.
@ECLECTOBALLS he's pretty close... I can understand soul and rnb and whatever but this... this is just some weird shit, band been doing some serious drugs when they made this. This belongs to some festival playing next to Fleet Foxes. bullshit
@FINbball SEEMS TO ME U DONT KNOW WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT, THEY RELEASED AN ALBUM BY THE ARABIAN PRNCE( ELECTRO), BRUCE HAACK( VOCODER BASED ELECTRONICA) THE HAVE RELEASED COMPILATIONS OF MINIMAL WAVE MUSIC FROM THE LATE 70S N 80S. DAM FUNK AINT EXACTLY HIP HOP, JAMES PANTS LATEST ALBUM COULDA BEIN MADE IN THE EARLY 80S. THE LIST GO'S ON BUD
@FINbball James Pants, Baron Zen, Yesterday's New Quintet, Anika...not in the hip-hop vein. I know the music is predominantly hip-hop, but it isn't a hip-hop label.
@interpolluter29 here we go... I already went through this shit with someone else. So I'll skip the arguments and say: ok this is not a hip-hop label. I was wrong.
@FINbball It happens, bro. With Madlib, Dilla, Oh No being the top 3 popular Stones Throw producers on the label I think, and a label run by a DJ who also produced and remixes hip-hop on the regular, I would have probably made the same assumption.
damn im so hooked on this psychadelia shit i wanna take acid and just trip out. No really, what happened to hiphop stonesthrow? icant dig this bullshit.
friggin' favorite album of 11 still ranting about it in 12.
