  • Hi Dan. I think that foam you found is called "Syntactic Buoyancy Foam", its a closed cell airated rubber (which is why it wont absorb liquid or pass air), usualy find it on things like,Camping mats, Kids swimming floats, Life jackets, boat buoyancy etc etc...i think its reactive to some corrosives like Gas or paint thinners, (like when you put gasoline in a foam cup), so i guess check it first if you're gonna use it like that.

  • It is cool stuuf, I have used it for things like those rubber antena pieces, plugs for the firewall, and for window and door handle crank sealers. It doesn't seem too rot like most foam, good call on the name of it.
