People saying the P90 can't kill people, now that's a joke. Good review, I'm looking into getting a PS90 myself one day when I get the money to spend on one.
If you think it won't kill you, you're an idiot. Its the same round (IDENTICAL!) to what comes out of an AR-15/M16/M4. The round, with only 5.5 grains of powder mind you, still gets up to 2000+FPS, which is 2/3 the speed of a standard M855 NATO round. The round will still tumble and yaw (the hp, s/s and a.p.) after 2-4 inches of penetration, and that includes going through a "bullet proof vest" Do some research. Do you think the US secret service carries these for looks and not performance?
thank you for your great review though you forgot to said how much you pay for it but ok... Im so sick of little butthole airsoft reviews thinking that it was the real thing there are way to many shit like that on youtube...
what ever happened to simplicity as far as smg's go i prefer the stylish really compact Skorpion vz. 61 with its .32 ACP armor piercing ammunition its home defense/tactical capability's far surpass the P90 by far
Who ever emailed you to whine and say the 5.7 won't kill anyone and the gun is junk is a complete moron. FNH made a great weapon. This round is phenomenal. Nice review.
There is nothing wrong with a PS90 as far as lethality is concerned. it's funny, you know some of the old school assassin weapons are 22 cal pistols and a lot of poachers use 22's for deer. If its not a 20mm round people act like it can't put a target down. crazy. If anyone has ever shot this gun you will not be able to lie about being able to put all 50 rounds in a tight group on target. excellent gun. 2 in the chest one in the head with a ps90 is very easy to do.
@johnyapplegun those assassins you speak of used .22s because..
A) They were shooting someone at VERY close distances.
B) The shot was usually fired into the head, from the back just behind the ear. A .22 has just enough power to inter the skull, but not to exit. The round bounces around in the skull punching many holes through the brain. Very deadly.
C) When used with a suppressor a .22 subsonic round sounds like a metallic "click".
@nikeakle that metallic "click" you are used to from the movies is not the subsonic bullet my common intellectual, it is in fact the mechanism of the gun doing its job, ejecting the old casing, and loading a new one. however if your suppressor is inadequate it will sound more like a high end BB gun being shot next to your head. i am not going to reveal sources, but lets just leave it at "i know what im talking about when it comes to guns."
@johnyapplegun That being said about the .22. The PS90 only has full potential when using armor piercing rounds and automatic or burst fire. That is what it was designed for.
Neither are allowed for ownership by US civilians easily (or cheaply) if at all.
Using standard ball ammo and semi-automatic fire makes this weapon a fun plinker at short or medium ranges, and even a good varmint killer.
But would I rely on such a weapon for home protection? Hell no. It has virtually no knockdown power.
...and to the dumb raccoons saying that this weapon will not kill anyone. well i challenge anyone of those shitsticks to take several of those rounds in their head...if they survive i'll treat them to dinner and give em $100.
those stupid nerds, dorks, and purists. you can be killed by the end of a sharpened toothbrush...so how will this gun NOT put you down.
First of all nice vid. I'm looking into getting a carbine and I'm stuck between the fn ps-90 and the hk416 there is no comparison between the two but those are the guns I'm looking into not sure what I'll choose is your p90 the California legal one? Do you know if it can b shot out of water? Just curious.
Last year me and my friend were out Squirrel hunting when his .22 rifle, by accident, hit me in the leg.
I'll tell you this, I couldn't walk for 2 months, and all I could focus on was the pain.
This round has more velocity than most rounds on the market today, and if I was shot by it I would sure as shit stay down in an attempt to not be hit by a second one.
Anyone who hates on the PS90 is just, simply put, an idiot.
Doesn't matter what you get hit by, bullets fucking hurt regardless of caliber.
I'm also the proud owner of a PS90, I take it everywhere, and with 50 rounds in it you could easily last MUCH MUCH longer in a self-defense type firefight because you could easily run up on the fucker while he's reloading and cap him in the face with 10 rounds.
I don't know about you, but a 50 round semi auto rifle like this is frightening to even think about being on the recieving end of.
hey, great review... I looked at a PS90 at the gun show a few months ago and I thought the sights were terrible too. maybe FN just expects its customers to buy a red dot sight.
um just thought i'd toss this out there the US secret service uses the P90 do to the rounds ability to perce body armor. there are civilan rounds the will go through armor then go another 11"+ and cause a 3" wide cavity. i know thats def not as wide as a .45 would make but the .45 also would not make it through the armor vests. anyhow awsome gun Ive been lucky enuff to shoot them and see tests with them. i like them verry much..
yes the 5.7 can but depending on what type of 5.7 ammo you use. types are the SS197SR,(SPORTING ROUND), SS195LF,(LEAD FREE), and the SS190AP, wich is steel core and for piercing armour
I've got no doubt that the 5.7 will kill any average human at distance. However I've got questions on how many rounds it takes to put a bad guy down at distance while shooting into the center of mass. Will the 5.7 stop and put down an attacker with three or fewer rounds? This is why I prefer carrying a .45 or more powerful handgun.
the 5.7 round is deadly as fuck. there have been people that have been shot with it in the chest and there has been hemorrhaging in their brain due to the pressure wave the round creates.
A friend of mine was a Marine MP and he said they fired those at a training center about two years ago.He said that round was punching threw their issued FLAK VEST at distance!! thats no joke for a small round...Nice rifle my friend!
The 5.7 from what I understand penetrates pretty easily, not to mention that Flak Vests (or Flak Jackets if you prefer) were made to stop shrapnel from say grenades, not to be like "bullet proof vests." (Not trying to be a jackass so I hope this comment isn't took in a bad way).
@XxLeggZxX Yes,I was talking about a LEVEL 2 Bullet proof vest...Thats why it was so amazing! I wasn't talking about the Viet-Nam era vest...My friend was completly floored by the Balistics on that round..
Mate, Level 2 is pretty low down. It's meant to stop pistol rounds, not rifle bullets, and to be honest that 5.7 is closer to a rifle round than any pistol.
So punching through Class II vests isn't uncommon. The Russian 7.62 TT did it way back in WWII.
The crazy thing about rounds like the 5.7 is that they go through class IIIA vests, and the only pistol rounds I know of that can do that are the 7.62 TT, Russian 9mm, and this baby.
FN makes great weapons, but the only problem I see with the P90 and FN57 pistol is that the ammo is not abundant enough here in the US. It still needs time to catch on.
Hell ya it's lethal i know tankers who use it and they say it's as effective as a 5.56mm. in fact the round was designed to slice right through body armor the only down side to the P90, is if you have the shorter barrel, it loses accuracy effectiveness at around 200 meters.
People saying the P90 can't kill people, now that's a joke. Good review, I'm looking into getting a PS90 myself one day when I get the money to spend on one.

Was his Cam on "Mirror Mode" cause at 2:59 he said you can shoot it from the right while he's clearly holding the riffle with his left hand.
But i can see his Pc from the background, the Icons are assembled on the left as they usually are by default.
