@Deneva2000 The show might not be as good , but the music is definitely worth checking out. Bear McCreary is a great composer.

And back on topic, this and "Going For A Ride" are my favourites, in fact, the whole soundtrack just kicks ass, it makes me feel happy and sad, for obvious reasons.

@Taspearl It has to do with what's currently "in" with composers. In the 80's, electronic keyboards were huge because of Chariots of Fire and Dune and Blade Runner. But now world music's in because of Hans Zimmer's score to Gladiator and it's especially big in the world of sci-fi because of Richard Gibb and Bear McCreary's work on Battlestar Galactica.

@SerenityScore Well i think it all started with Starship Troopers about the music.

BSG actually gather everything they like from other shows and movies, like the camera and effects is all Firefly (even the studio is the same).

@Deneva2000 I have not seen Starship Troopers yet, but thanks for the headsup about its music. Had no clue Basil Poledouris did the music.

But I was using BSG as an example, as its probably the most popular/well-known example that everything's trying to imitate. The 2000 Dune miniseries used minimalistic world music before BSG did, and I didn't mention that.

me too, have to admit when i first saw it i didnt like it, thought it was a bit too quirky. but when you get into the story and the characters its fuckin amazing...

somebody had the whole series uploaded here on utube a while back. i watched them all back to back, couldve cried when i found out it was cancelled. i mean look at some of the crap they put on tv.

Actually, it's Serenity now. Fox owns the copyrights to the franchise name "Firefly", so that's why the RPG sourcebook and the comics use the name Serenity.

Unfortunately, no. But the End Credits song is essentially a longer version of this.

I do have a edited version of this song that's edited together with "End Credits". I might post it if I ever get off my arse and upload the rest of the Firefly soundtrack.
