While her theme is not nearly as epic as others final boss themes (read: utusho) It actually very fitting for her backstory and for the stage itself.

That last Spellcard has KANAKO written all over it. It looks like her spellcard, but this one has like energy strings running all over the amulets and it's kinda confusing at first.

This theme might not seem final boss like but when I think about it I can't imagine it for any other boss. and also it's definetly the light from the scroll making her hair purple.

@username7112 I'm really sorry for responding to almost a year-old comment, but it's really bugging me. Byakuren's hair is purple when she makes her entrance BEFORE she opens up her scroll. It is also not the lighting of the stage that could make her hair purple because Shou's hair would have had a hue to it as well since she is in Makai.

So I'm just wondering how are you able to so successfully and reliably death bomb? I've haven't been able to death bomb properly since Imperishable Night XD

It takes a lot of reflex and a little foresight at times. Basically, stuff that you can only hone in by practicing.

Also, avoid using IN as a base for deathbombing. it has the largest deathbomb grace known to Shump-kind (about a quarter of a second after death if I remember correctly.)

The second to last card (the one before the survival card) looks a lot like Yukari's Xanatu of Straight and Curve SC with just more random straight lines of danmaku coming out of random directions.

I think this song is one of the most "emotional sounding" ZUN ever churned out... but yeah I do agree that it doesn't fit the moment as much as it usually does (except for MoF which sucked in my opinion).

Plus that song as something different from all others, making it more unique... so yeah, it's all good.

Not final boss worthy? The music is definitely last boss worthy. Just cause it isn't as "epic" doesn't mean it isn't. It has power and a style suiting the boss that makes it definitely worthy for Hiziri, a hard as hell final boss.

I'm going to guess the first one. Thats the only one thats remotely close to one of Yukari's cards.

Cause the 2nd card closely resembles one of Yuyuko's, and the 4th card for everyone that has played the PC-98 games knows is a steal of Shinki's 2nd last attack.

Therefore, Byakuren Hiziri = the new Thief Type of Touhou.

and i felt a really high jump of difficulty in touhou form the 6-7-8 to 10-11 and then again another jump D:

the only reason you probably feel its harder is because its new

funnily enough, i blazed through stage 4-5-6 much faster than SA, although the UFO system is pretty annoying in how many times it got me killed cause i went for a UFO

and they dont look like stage 1-2 bosses

i feel like fighting a stage 3 (in terms of dificulty) for example if you go to touhou 6-7-8

I did stages 1-3 without using focus

nazrin is very easy in my opinion, i agree that kogasa is probably the hardest stage 2 boss in the game however.

lvl 1 is hard as a lvl 2

lvl 2 as a lvl 3

The spellcard translates to Great Magic "Demon God's Rehearsal" (or Great Magic "Demon God's Recitation" on Hard/Lunatic.)

It's a pretty obvious reference. The fight takes place in Makai and the stage BGM uses the heartbeat theme Zun said he wanted to try in Mystic Square.
