Simple, Really! Just like George Strait and Alan Jackson sang about, "Murder on Music Row"
Not "Pop", "Top 40", or whatever else that "they" wanna pass as "Country" nowadays.
The music buying majority , unfortunately, could care less about what true crountry is about, just as long as it sounds similar to the top 40 their parents listened to.
Sad, YES! But, had to give reader digest version due to character length.
@OriginalBurton I grew up with country back in the 70's and have to say I never cared for it unless it was Jim Stafford or anything that was comical. I have to say that rock and hard rock have gone the way of noise as well.
There are exceptions of course but I can't think of one at the present time lol.
@Marathonmarch I'm right there with ya'! But we still must ask why some independents do not get Nashville support? Especially if they do "Truckin'" Music?
After all, trucking moves the country, but yet side lined?
When I play out I am always asked who my favorite guitarist is and even though hendrix and srv are my biggest influences. I would pick a junior brown show over anybody. He is simply sick, a mix between atkins and hendrix on the guitar. And he plays straight into a fender reverb amp no pedals, clean as it gets.
Michael Myers left Haddonfield and became Junior Brown's drummer!

Well you can buy one from Stevensguitars (the guy who made both of Jr's) but they are complete custom jobs and go for about $10,500 a piece.
