at 14 you shouldn't want to get involved in building big muscles. your too young to train for muscular hypertorphy/stength. you should focus more on fat loss and muscular endurance. then when you have reached your full maximum height, you should hit the heavy weights!!
Hey im 14 to. but im well built. just eat less. do alot of pushups and when you get bored during the day just start walking around. dont sit down and ply games or watch tv just work out. it will help u gain the muscle u want.
if you want to get a good workout, do what i do, i used to have a bf% around 23. when i workout i get up early, workout a light weight (around 130 for me) for around 20 minutes, doing bench press, squats, laterals, and curls. eat a big breakfast, relax, then go back in 30 minutes to an hour and workout for at LEAST 45 minutes, i break everything into sections, 10 mins here 15 mins there, you get the idea. i'll do another post so you can know how to start effectively
start around 25% your max for the first 15 minutes, then up it to 45% max to keep yourself going, around the 30 minute mark you'll get an endorphin high and keep going and it makes me feel better. it's been about 2 months so far and i do this every other day, a simple workout every morning, but my body fat % is now at exactly 6.3%. eat alot of healthy food, rice, grains, lean meats, fruits and vegies, i stay away from all candy, but i still drink pop. ^_^ eventually you'll like workin out!
dude im 16 and i used to be a fat shit when i was 8-13, then at 14 i got really tall and i became really skinny and scrawny. Then i started working out, im not big but i have a pretty big chest, back and wide shoulders. I still have pinner arms and legs but i went from being short and fat to tall lean and muscular so yeh. Because you're 14, if you lift weights that are too heavy, it can harden your growth plates. Once you're about 17, and the testosterone has really picked up, you can move up to the heavier stuff. By that time, you'll already be in pretty good shape...that's my 2 cents worth.
