i just bought season 1 on itunes, and it a good show. i betcha people slept on this just like other great show's(freakylinks, brimstone, new fantasy island).
I've adored Karl since the movie back in 1972. Then, he was on the series. My favorite episode is the one with the zombie in the back of the hearse. Great music and some nifty clips.
Love the pictures. I just enjoyed this show so much. I remember watching this when it first came on and always watched reruns when I could find them. I have the dvd's and this makes me think I need to get them out this weekend and watch them again. Darren McGavin did a great job as Kolchak. I enjoyed how he tormented Ron.
recording every episode that came on back in the mid 70's, & then when videotape came out, I got what I needed from CBS Late Night Double Feature movies & the last four from ChillerTV. No one will ever take Darren McGavin's place.
I was a sophmore in high school when the series ran on ABC in prime time, on Friday nights, first getting clobbered by Police Woman then Sanford&Son. Loved Kolchak! The tv movies scared the bejeezus out of me. I'm Kolchak's age now and what an easy Halloween costume that will be, the seersucker suit. Finding an early '70s vintage hand-held cassette recorder and that strobe camera will require a trip to E-Bay. I'm going to have press ID made up, of course, and maybe even crash some media event!
Awesome! Have you read the short story of Carl Kolchak's meeting with Barnabas Collins? It reveals what character is the link between The Night Stalker and Dark Shadows.
Hi..no I don't have any of the Kolchak comic bookx...I wish I did! I am planning on doing some stop motion with my Kolchak doll and my Dark Shadows dolls...make up my own little Night Stalker in Collinwood story!
Skorzeny was bitten by one of Barnabas' victims. Barnabas was, therefore, the vampire king or master of that line. He met Skorzeny and sensed that Skorzeny wanted to fight him, but Skorzeny knew that Barnabas would overpower him. Given Skorzeny's strength, Barnabas must have been extremely strong!
I used to love"The Night Stalker"! Still do.(; I see it on TV occasionally. Darren Mcgavin played Carl Kolchak perfectly. Loved your video, by the way. (-: 5 Stars

Yes! That was a very good story. Barnabas would've beaten Skorzeny in a fight.
