  • LOve your video. Waiting for Hurricane Irene and found something to make me smile...

  • @raindear60 Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun singing it.

  • Great video! Did their boat make it back????I thought I saw the Captain with three beers too!!!

  • i wish i was there

  • What a great vid! Sounds like you're all having a great time...nothing like an impromptu singalong! Happy days ;.)

  • Thanks. Glad you could join us.

  • Great! I love the harmonizing.

  • I'll check out video #5 - thanks.

We go a little overboard over here on the p.c. vocabulary. It's very hard to keep up.

  • I remember teaching my kids and grandkids this song. We sounded about as good as your group does (actually you're a little better) and we were sober too.

Wish I could have been there.

Best wishes for the upcoming season (whatever you call it). Is Merry Christmas politically correct in your country?

    Ann

  • Well, the music in the lift to my apartment is "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" over and over again, so I guess it must be. Actually, I don't think political correctness has quite caught on yet in Hong Kong.

Have you seen my song, "Politically Correct?" It's video No. 5. Theres also a live version somewhere.

  • Looks like and sounds like everyone is having a ball of fun. A big ole Tom Clancy drunken singing dinner. You got the whole crew joining in and wantin' to go home drunk or sober. Throw the women and children over board but save the Alcheehol

  • Actually we were drinking Chinese tea.

  • That must be a very enjoyable gathering.

    Sampson

  • Yes it was. See you at the Canny Man!

  • Enjoyed this musical romp.

  • So did we!

  • aww man that looks like it was a blast!

I always loved this tune...would have been hard for me to be in that room and not have a big smile on my face.

  • Wish you could have joined us.

Actually that's not really a room. This restaurant is kind of open spaces all along the waterfront.

  • This has nothing to do with the song, but...when I see your videos like this it makes me jealous-- I want to visit Hong Kong!! I want some of that great seafood, and to be able to drink a decent cup of tea at a restaurant (something impossible here in USA). I want to ride on some junks in the harbour! Some day...

  • Yes, it's a great place. We'll be sorry to leave it next year.

  • a really nice atmoshpere there mr.crooke

  • Atmoshpere? Have you been drinking too, Chrishtoper?

  • Very festive. Happy Holidays Mr.Crooke!

  • Thanks, Shawn. Happy Holidays to you too. (I believe that's the politically correct way of saying Merry Christmas.)

  • Hello

    Raymond...

It is evident that this group was indeed having a splendid time while in their cups. Seems the appropriate song to sing on a boat ride. Additionally, their acapella vocalizations seem pure and unrestrained (I reckon this is an affect of all of the imbibing going on). Many thanks for sharing this live snippet of "The Wreck of the John B" with us.

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • Thanks, Max. I think "unrestrained" is definitely the appropriate word here.:-)
