And no I do not drive a Mustang, A 150 shot with bolt ons puts 05-09 Gts into the mid 11's if not lower.. And unless he had some HEATED drag radials the spray would have caused the GT to lose traction

@01FASTTRACK If he was spraying it he would pull a lot harder.... with your theory a 450 hp mustang (assuming he was bone stock besides the nitrous and i seriously doubt that) would get half a car length on a heavier 350 hp trans am...? Oh ok that makes perfect sense. And I guess they make nitrous switches and timing for the nitrous "hit" because you can't notice it, when the nitrous hits you lose traction completely unless those tires are super sticky and that is a fact.

However, counting with your watch? Come on, man. That's not documentation. Don't get me wrong I love the S-197 GT's. But without appropriate instrumentation, you're guessing at best.

Borrow an accelerometer. (Autometer sells 'em) You'll see, auto or not you're not going to get mid four second 0-60 out of 320hp. Unless the car weighs a lot less than the GT S-197. The physics don't work, dude.

I have a 98 trans am with a stock ls1 motor with the stock intake heads and cam... longtube headers, custom tune, a built trans and high stall converter with the stock 2.73 gear in the back. full tubular suspension. This car pulls high 1.8s to mid 1.9 60 ft times. the car is about 3700 pounds with me in it i can pull 4.5 0-60 mph everytime on nitto tires. It has exactly 320 rwhp

Maybe in a 1/4 mile against someone who doesn't shift well. But all other things being equal, in a 0-60 mph, not likely. It's called parasitic loss. The auto shifts quicker amd over a series of shifts it will make a difference. But that's largely negated in a quick run up to 60 mph. Certainly not to the tune of .5 seconds.

ive outrun 2 trans ams the 2000 versions ram air ws6 v8s but it was not a strip race it was a street race and highway race the first one was a month ago on a range of open highway he let me get neck and neck with him and we both floored it hard but i was a car length ahead of him in my 06 mustang gt he gave up and slowed down ha ha my heart was racing fast from the noise and speed the 2 cars made lol scary as hell earlier today i dusted another guy in his black v8 ws6 trans 320 horsepower gt

yeah my dad owns a 2006 shelby gt which in case you didnt know is a stock gt with an x pipe catback intake and a moderate tune. That being said i was 1 car behind him with my 98 formula when i had a catback, now i got a tune, lid, and catback and i got him by 4 cars....i paid $7000 for mine and his was $40000 soo dont be talkin shit about the ls1.

i know but im jsut making a point there is a saleens s351 that does not have a s/c and produces 500hp.That dude was sayin saleens have a s/c but not all of them do, matter of fact i didnt even know any saleen had one lol.And yea ur right the same year for year gm would likely win but only cuz the weight, engine power placed in them.And weight/engine does matter jsut look at the vette, light arodynamic car with a huge ls6, so it makes a difference.
