Borrow an accelerometer. (Autometer sells 'em) You'll see, auto or not you're not going to get mid four second 0-60 out of 320hp. Unless the car weighs a lot less than the GT S-197. The physics don't work, dude.
I have a 98 trans am with a stock ls1 motor with the stock intake heads and cam... longtube headers, custom tune, a built trans and high stall converter with the stock 2.73 gear in the back. full tubular suspension. This car pulls high 1.8s to mid 1.9 60 ft times. the car is about 3700 pounds with me in it i can pull 4.5 0-60 mph everytime on nitto tires. It has exactly 320 rwhp
Maybe in a 1/4 mile against someone who doesn't shift well. But all other things being equal, in a 0-60 mph, not likely. It's called parasitic loss. The auto shifts quicker amd over a series of shifts it will make a difference. But that's largely negated in a quick run up to 60 mph. Certainly not to the tune of .5 seconds.

That being said i was 1 car behind him with my 98 formula when i had a catback, now i got a tune, lid, and catback and i got him by 4 cars....i paid $7000 for mine and his was $40000 soo dont be talkin shit about the ls1.
