  • Kenny G

  • i ahieved better same age. -.- no offense tho.

  • thats usually acheived at 7th or 8th grade, but for being at his age, hes good

  • hi im 12 and play alto sax (the best sax by far), and have done grade 6, this kids good, but i agree with handheldhale, he needs to get his stance right, and be more confident when first playing a note, keep at it, and you'll be doing amazing jazz in no time :) good luck

  • @wannabekillable actualy he has a good stance but yes he should use more confidence some people hold ther saxaphone's in the middle it is just less common i personally favor holding mine in the middle.(im 12 also)

  • man some of y'all are dicks. just cut the kid a break he's only in 6th grade!

  • Comment removed

  • your holding it wrong! you play it like your sitting down. trust me i play alto sax

  • @handheldhale i think he has more skill than you did, so be quiet and enjoy this kids epic skill, that you might never master.

  • great job

  • i could do this while running out of a burning building

  • Ofcourse. He's asian. Ofc hes good. xD

  • to me u need to put the neck-strap a little higher

  • this is awesome because ive seen 10 year olds with toy saxohpones and he has a real one lucky kid i play alto keep up the good work

  • kid how much are the sax because i just got in band and i dont have money to buy one i am in 5 grade

  • @123Chilosa they like about 500 to 900 bucks for an alto sax i got in my school band to and im in da same grade as you

  • @123Chilosa eh..im in 6th and my teacher reccomended for me torent one. you could try that maybe. Good luck! :)

  • sweet!!! keep going

  • nice freakn sax dude

  • bello, wow.

  • This video is from 2005 - Now he is 15 like me and he would be better than 5 years ago.

  • he's good!

What grade is he playing there?

  • Dam that kid can play

  • @boffyrox02 not true. im a freshman in high school and have been playing for six years. i study jazz, rock and classical. im no professional and i agree that the saxophone may not be the hardest FINGERING WISE. but other than the double reeds, the saxophone is definetly the hardest to get a great sound out of. in tune, no wobbles, round tone.

  • @twitchtap Freshman alto player in college here, and I absolutely agree. Sax is the easiest instrument to sound utterly awful on. On brass for example, a clear tone is generally fairly easy to achieve with full breath support, however, the difficulty it lacks in tone production is quickly made up for in difficulty of range, fingering, and technique.

  • u play really good, i cant wait, ima play that instrument next year, now i play the clarinet but i dont like it, at all!

  • Most of amatuers thinks that saxiphone is a difficult instrument to play.

However, in all the woodwind intruments, saxophone is definatly the easiest intrument to play. Although it takes some air, it does not require as much effort as flute or clarinet. I prefer young kid to start saxophone rather than clarinet, and if you practice everyday, it will only take about 2~3 month to go to advanced book of rubank method.

  • sounds like american patrol

i could play this when i was 8

  • may i ask what song is this

  • @bubblesofhell I'm pretty sure it's from a rubank method book

  • It is not that hard to play sax at 10. I did.

  • wow

  • Very nice!! especially for a ten year old!!

  • wow

  • That was amazing for a 10 year old!

  • Wow.... You sound better than me and I've been playing for 6 years... I'm not even going to try and hate. :D

  • wow this is amazing good job

  • AWESOME YOU ARE AMAZING

  • awesome control over low and high notes :)

  • WOW THAT WAS GREAT!!!!

  • im a sax player, and you do not have to get a private teacher thing, you can buy books and most schools have program's, which like totally rock!!!

  • no that would encourage slouching by the way i play sax, piano, and guitar, to settle all interment wars piano becomes the hardest, sax is hardest to start out, and guitar is easy to start but never really touches the difficulty of amazing piano peaces.

  • isn't the alto a little too big for his hands? So shouldn't he play to the side?

  • @coltfan15 no i play like that and i found it dosnt really matter what side you play on

  • Good job. I really enjoyed it :)

  • first of all, you cant say that any instrument is better than another. it depends on what the individual person wants to do. tenor is more of a harmony instrument, while alto and soprano are more melody. it all depends on what you want to do. personally i like alto better, but that's just me

  • Continue, You sound Good Kid :) Good Luck in The Future GO ALTOS!!~

  • @lollypear123 altos are for 10 year old kids who cant pickup a tenor or Bari

  • @lollypear123 SCREW YOU lollypear123! BARI'S THE BEST! I PLAY IT IN THE SIXTH GRADE BAND! MAKE A SWITCH jinrongrong1994!

  • @lollypear123 altos suck, i play it too

tenors and baris sound like actual saxes, altos just suck

  • the start was a bit edgy but other than that it was okay ;)

  • psh,

    soprano all the way!

    lol

  • i am thinkng of switching from he eletric guitar over to the alto sax what do you guys think? should i stick with guitar or go to sax (i am older than 10)

  • SWITCH saxis way more funn!! :D

  • definitley stay with guitar, that would be a huge change and would take tremendous amount of talent, practice, and money to become fairly descent at it. so just continue and become even better at guitar. plus, you would need to get a private teacher for sax if you were to switch. both instruments are very popular so if you were to swithc, you would still proabbly not be as good as those who have studied sax their whole life

  • you shouldn't switch, but rather pick both of them up. For guitar, start getting better at the classical guitar (I assume you play electric, you might not, idk). and about the private teacher stuff, it's not true. you just have to pick up a couple of books and read em before you start. A definite, is the Larry Teal's "Art of Saxophone Playing." read through that before you start to play. the rest is pretty much just going through method books and improving tone till you start to play in school .

  • SAX!!

  • this is a beast in the making!

  • i play tenor

  • fantastic tone!!!

  • Whats the name of the song ?

  • OMFG I LUV THAT SONG!! ON OBOE!!

don't see many 10-year-olds playin alto(or any instrument, in that case

  • I've been playing alto since I was 8 and I'm ten now.

  • Great job iplay the alto sax too!

  • pretty good

  • wow your very good for 10 years old! you have better tone then some of the players at my school

  • you mother fucker suck my dick u asshole

  • WOW JOIN OUR BAND!!:)

  • hes not bad but he takes too many breaths and its like hes swallowing the mouthpeice and he probably just maby will sound beta if he stood stil! but good job

  • Great job I Play alto sax too! I'm not that good, but I'm good.

  • hey u mother fucker

  • Sometimes your embouchure gets a little messed up resulting in bad tone but your decent for your age. Also try and phrase everything up, take breathes less during connected lines (like a run of eighth notes) and more after long holds.

Check out my videos of my small little group playing jazz/funk tunes if you have a chance!

  • wtf man he's only 10 years old, he wouldn't understnd half the words you just said...

  • OMG! i played this song for my exame!

  • ok but be careful when you start otherwise it sounds squeaky. trust me i play alto sax

  • woah, for ten years old... that is amazing. like... woah. speechless.

  • heyhey very good!!! well done Good kid!! add u to my favourites!

  • Very Impressive

keep it up kid, and you'll be great

  • very good, made sure your tongue and fingers are together, sometimes when you went down those faster notes, your tongue dragged a bit.

  • very impressive actually!

  • i like the swaying motion

  • people keep in mind that he is 10 years old. that is either in 4th or 5th grade. i started playing in 5th grade and i personlly think that it's amazing how good of tone he gets.

  • wow hes better than most of the retards playing a sax on here!

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I could sax just like you.Good job on your embouchure, though. And your noting is very good especially in Eb.Good job overall.

  • I'm 12 And I've played the sax since I was about 8 or 9 years old. I sounded pretty good but I just didn't play this sorta music, usually I used to play jazz and stuff but I mostly play salsa now. Keep up the good work =]

  • i rember playin dat song when i was 10!!!!! im in honor band now and i play more advanced songs now but ur good kid keep up the work!!!!

  • Amazing for a 10 year old!

  • wow i remember when i was ten playing sax(no private lessons at the time) i was almost that good i think

  • no. you suck

  • Jealous are we?

  • wow he is really good, for all you haters saying u are way better get a life. he is only 10 and im pretty sure he is gona be way better than you by the time he is sr. in highschool

  • he has music with him its not like hes awesome for reading off a sheet of music

if he memorized it that would have made him better yeah he has fast fingering for notes but hes reading offf music

  • Do any of you know the name of this piece!?

  • HATE playing after fuckin notes

  • good job dude!

  • Really Good! Keep it up!!!

  • Only playing three months I Highly doubt you can even play a Chromatic scale, let alone this. But if he actually tounged some of his notes, it might sound better.

  • i agree, there needs to be some tounging. I would put the neck strap up. Ive been playing for 1 year and a half and i am thirteen. I made first band first chair at all-region as a seventh grader, This is great for a 10 year old. But hes reading music and that makes it a lot easier, If he did it by memory it would better

  • shut up. nobody asked for your opinion

  • Reply for TheatreHomie:

Agreed neck strap looks like hes forcing himself on the sax. It would be more comfortable if he adjusted it higher

  • im 12 2 i play first chair at my middle school and still cant play that good

  • nice!

  • yea good job man keep at it

  • Comment removed

  • says ur 22 loser

  • lol wow. everyone saying that he sucks, are you dumb? if he really is ten, damn.

he hit a few high D's and F's with the palm keys. i bet half of you didnt even know the fingerings for those notes when you first started.

    hah great job kid.

  • it's ok! for 10 :) x gd job

  • im 12 been playing for over 3 years... own this kid, not bad at all for 10

  • i play the trumpet and if i tried to play sax at my age(12) i would be so bad

  • Yeah, tuner, go for a darker sound, and articulate more, but keep practicing!! And I think you should raise your neckstrap up. All the weight should be on your top two teeth dude. Keep going and you could be the next Kenny G!

  • I agree the neck strap should come up more.

  • dude TUNER

  • I started playing stuff like that at 11 im almost 13 but he is very good for that age

  • That is very good for a ten year old. You should work on a darker tone and a stronger t tounge. If you better in those you will achieve more than you think. Trust me. I've been playing for 3 1/2 years and I have achieved a lot. I honor band this past year and went to band camp and got first chair in both. Whenever you play you should challenge yourself. That is what I did and I have kicked peoples butt and they had been playing 2 years longer than me.

  • any one know the name to this song?

  • your really good wish i could play like that!

  • I play the sax and that is ok for a 10 year old

    i'm 12

  • yeah, I agree, i'm 12 too, been playing for a few months

  • hes nice for his age. i bet in about a year he'll be 4 times the player you claim to be zeltrax

  • Asians... Well anyways, he needs to invest in a tuner and learn to play with cleaner articulation and a darker sound... And don't tell me go easy on him because he's ten because I don't give a SHIT!!

  • wow, dude you do have issues, like the first thisngs you said was ok, but then you just became retarded.

  • amazing...for his age

  • crazy...

  • I bet hes been playing all his life

  • does this kid have the standard batshit crazy overacheiving asian parents that makes their kids practice all the time? (not trying to steriotype, but i have only seen the batshit crazy overbearing parents in the asian race.)

  • big deal that songs not that hard i could have played that when i was 10 too

  • LOLOL

  • Wow....

  • woah hes good for a 10 year old like amazing man i started playing when i was 10 and im 14 and as good as him just now its cool

  • THATS PRETTY GOOD and thats alto looks as big on him as my bari on me lol
