America's morals are spiraling out of control because we have these stupid tv shows supporting teen pregnancy. Another problem is these parents are children themselves. I am for abstinence and it is not true that we are more likely to have sex.If teens choose to have sex then be prepared for all responsiblities. But for those who can criticize people like myself must be the ones in and out of clinics getting antibotics to clear up those infections you have.
America does not have a moral culture that's spiraling out of control, they just don't have education. The Netherlands has a very low rate (if not one of the lowest rates) of STDs and teen pregnancy and they definitely don't use abstinence only, hello the red light district! Stop the puritan beliefs and face the facts that sex is a normal part of life and nothing to be ashamed of.
Gee, maybe parents *should* be the ones to teach their kids about contraception. But what if the parents don't know anything about contraception because they themselves only learned abstinence only in high school....what then? Since when is less information better? People can choose to use contraception or not based on their own moral beliefs or their own trust in it's effectiveness. But failure to include this information puts people at risk who eventually do decide to have sex.
If their gonna teach abstinence only education fine but they also need to teach kids about contraception as well because abstinence is just not realistic.
It's one thing to challenge youth to wait for a while on sexual activity, but scaring the hell out of them and telling them a condom is a provision for sin is irresponsible! If you want the information that your church won't tell you about premarital sex in the Bible go to the site below.
It seems to me that in the US, teens are considered as dumb asses that should just do, not think..."message to young people" like do they need a message to start understand?
I oppose these abstinence programs, but Huckabee brings the fundamental issue to the table. He said that if parents are complaining about the sexual activity of their children, the PARENTS should be dealing with it. But since the parents complain to the government (which is ridiculous for them to do), then he says that the GOVERNMENT will decide what's best...and since so many adults are complaining about the method used, then they have the option of rejecting government interference.
Abstinence only? The breakdown of the family? Gov Palin and her pregnant teen daughter, hmm. Even Sarah herself was already pregnant on her wedding day. What kind of message does that send to our young people??? That Republican weasels are hypocrytical liars? Yup. Real sex education works. It works well. Look at Holland for instance. It has the lowest teen pregnancy rate in Europe. How did that happen? Surely it has nothing to do with the fact that they have the best comprehensive sex education.
I guess Huckabee hasn't heard of the STD herpes. You can get herpes by kissing a herpes infected person, shareing food or drinks with them, or if the infected person touches the infected area and then touches another person. No sex needed.
He completely sidesteps the second question. The question was "Shouldn't we also teach contraception instead of Absitence-ONLY" the answer given was "so-called 'family values' have degraded to the point where the government is being asked to step in, but is being asked to do so by hypocrites who don't want the government dealing in questions of morality."
I do not approve of this spinning, answers would be preferable.
America is spreading abstinency in south Africa : Result : The extraordinary increase of crime rate, rapes and teens pregnancy with deadly miscarriages, only thank to Bush Christian policy. America is the country with the higher rate of rapes, teens pregnancy, and HIV in the western world, thank to puritanism, Europeans have prostitution and teach teens how to use condoms. Result : 10 times less problems than in America.
What a tard!

Here is a scenario for men*:
"I'm abstaining myself, dum de dum de dum..."
"C'mere!'
"Oh no! Stop raping me! [Scream]"
Two months later. "You have HIV and herpes."
Fifteen years later. "You have a year to live."
*Yes, men can get raped. And if your wondering, they can be raped by both sexes.

Abstinence is not a method of 100% protection. OMG! How can this be? I am a sinner! I am The Liar. This is how:
Here is a scenario for women:
"Oh, I'm abstaining myself. Dum dee dum dee dum..."
"C'mere."
"Oh no! Stop! Stop raping me! Stop it!"
Two months later. "Looks like you have HIV and herpes."
One month later. "Yep. You're pregnant. And you finally have AIDS."
Six and a half months later. "Your child has HIV."
