  • This gave me one of the worst earworms I've ever had back in the day. But I sitll love it and the video. :) Thank you for making & uploading!

  • My friends and I used to be obsessed with this in high school. We were weird.

  • A nostalgic classic for me and I love the simplicity of the animation, beats the complex stuff hands down.

  • I saw this when I was in high school and my friends and I would sing it to strangers and they ran away! Let's see 2002.. I was in 9th-10th grade.

  • you have to admit that is really stupid

  • epic

  • Where on earth did you find the audio for this back in the day?

  • @Erinwolfrus It was sent to me as an MP3. A good friend of mine found it on Napster! (remember Napster???)

  • @cclear44 That is totally bizarre! You inadvertently picked up a piece of radio history and immortalized it to a bunch of people who would have never heard it otherwise. Very cool.

  • i remember finding this when i was in middle school while researching for the monkey zodiac. it was the best day of my life

  • A LITTLE RED MONKEY. THATS THE TRUE DEFINITION ON LIFE :P

  • This piece of haunting music takes us back to Children's Favourites for BBC Radio. The artistes are a surprise; the mists of time had caused the memory to think it must have been one of Burl Ives classics. Thanks 44 for making this available and there is an identical version of the same animation uploaded by BlahBlah and another lovely arrangement for flutes also. Just 1 minute 49 but it's infectious

  • Thumbs up if you think little red monkey looks like Justin Bieber.

  • not heard this for years. fond memories of saturday mornings, children's choice, on bbc light programme. thanks for posting it

  • wow

  • I have the source SWF that i got years ago from creator of the thing. :/

  • @Maximilixn but i lost it.

  • I still have my black t-shirt with the 'little red moneky'

wear it when I'm vacation and take pics of it places.

and still use it as a ringer on my phone....and still drives my wife nuts when it gets stuck in her head.

  • Haha....my geometry teacher played this for our class today, everyone was talking about it and singing it the rest of the day :D

  • i like the euphonium, nice touch

  • my god...

  • This is awesome!

  • This song slaps!

  • PWN, thanks

  • this version of little red monkey is from Joy Nichols, Dick Bentley and Jimmy Edwards... WACK-O!! it was released in the UK on Parlophone shortly after the Frank Chacksfield version was released. Other versions have been mentioned from Ken Griffith (instrumental) , Rose Murphy, Rosemary Clooney, Roberto Inglez and the late great Mel Blanc

  • wtf?

thats all i have to sayO_o

  • I first watched this \like 5 years ago and the first time I watched it I cracked up like major.

  • I remember this from when Neopets was big.

  • @Supershoe neopets ruled my life back in the day.

  • @Supershoe Glad I'm not the only one who remembers that...

  • AMAZING :D

  • Hehe

  • THIS IS HOT

  • Does anyone know what early synthesizer was used on this recording, was it a Maestrovox or something similar?

  • If indeed an early synthesizer was used on this recording it likely will be a Maestrovox/Clavioline-type instrument. According to Wikipedia a Clavioline was used for the original version of this song.

(The 1953 tune "Little Red Monkey" by Frank Chacksfield's Tunesmiths, featuring Jack Jordan on clavioline. This was the first record featuring an electronic instrument to feature on the UK pop chart (April 1953). )

  • funny and cool and like the music

  • One of Ken Griffins most disturbing tracks, and that animation fits it perfectly.

  • :O blast from the pastt

  • i remember this video that was so many years ago

  • Omg, every now and again I remember this video, I used to watch it everyday with my friends, a little piece of childhood memory right here!

  • this is a classic. my best friend and i used to watch it when we were little kids and i still love it.

  • It's "Don't think the monkey liked that, Bentley" after one of the men who sung it; Jimmy Edwards and Dick Bentley.

  • I used to watch this all the time when I was 11 and I still love it.

"THAT WAS GHASTLY! I don't think the monkey liked that at all."

I love my life beceause of this video.

  • my god! i saw this when i was like 10 and its awsome

  • I had this song on cassette. There are pictures of me dancing to it with a basket on my head. The mental scars have only just faded.

  • Oh man I'm going to be singing this for days. Thanks for the happy simple awesome video :D

  • That was GAHSTLY!don't think the monkey liked that medley,he seems to be jumping, acting so fidgity

  • I love this its so scary. The first time I saw it I was shocked and amazed and watched it over and over like a thousand times. Lol its great.

  • Does anyone know where I can download the song? :)

  • dude, i remmeber this from the fall of 2002! sweet!

  • This animation was my son's absolute 'best thing ever' when he was a baby (we have the song on a children's CD too), so I'm really glad it's still around 4 years later. :D

  • I found this on Jason's site many years ago and it never fails to make me happy. Good to see it again! :D

  • Just to clarify... I made this in the summer of 2002. Didn't mean to imply it was new. :-)
