When it works it works, but most troupes spend months crafting their sketches while a TV show only has a few days. That's why SNL sucks usually. It's harder to do than it looks so when it fails, they look bad. So I avoid the disapointment by not watching at all. >_<

My favorite comic is Adam Carolla. I wasn't a big fan of "The Man Show" but his radio work is the best and funniest stuff I've ever heard. It's not material, it's real and with his comic/improv skills he makes it funny or funnier than it is.

He'll note that he thinks they are good looking if he sees fit to do so, but he only spends an estimated average of 5-15% of his on-camera time actually talking about looks.
He's ACTUALLY saying, that in his opinion there are only two FEMALES on youtube who make really well made videos, and then I slightly larger number who make pretty good videos. Although, he makes these lists distinctly separate from the MALE lists, because there are many of them who are capable of making fantastic videos.

Why the hell would a huge production crew of people gather around to help and maintain just one other performer like you and LN anyways? I've always wondered that. Even if they like being part of a production crew more than anyone in the world, it's still a good deal of time and effort taken away from their lives.

LN doesn't operate that way because she does not leave the stage. LN will probably have a broader, but more shallow appeal. CC, on the other hand, seems like a more specialized weapon -- won't work on as many, but if you are vulnerable to her spell she will utterly hold you prisoner.

My favorite comic is Adam Carolla. I wasn't a big fan of "The Man Show" but his radio work is the best and funniest stuff I've ever heard. Part of the reason I like him so much is he gives a lot of personal details of his life. Stuff he likes, stuff he hates, his past, his marriage, kids, etc... It's not material, it's real and with his comic/improv skills he makes it funny or funnier than it is.

And granted a lot of Vloggers are so/so, but when the two combine and it works...to me that's as good as it gets. Natalie is YouTube at it's best.

Hmm. I thought 6 out of 10 was a bit harsh, even compared to CC. I think the problem is that you are using CC as a defining point and measuring everyone else versus her and that really isn't fair. I think it's less like cars and more like coconuts and peaches. Even so, I don't think she rates as high as CC, but 6?

"Nats" is a great point of definition because she's a solid package of talent, humour, and intelligence. Her only downfall is that she's a jack-of-all-trades and therefore can't be the master of any. She's the closest thing to it, though. She's arguably the best random vid-journal style poster on youtube. You have to compare something to the benchmark when you're reviewing or the review isn't going to guage it.

Agree to disagree! Heh. I think CC is the best at her vlog+random reenactment style. But that's her thing. Her best are the half vlog/half one man show reenactments. What LisaNova does is completely different. But if Nat is CR's benchmark that's fine too. It's an almost free country. :)

I saw Blue Velvet for the first time at a COOL theater that gave away a free "Pabst Blue Ribbon" beer with the ticket. I wasn't drinking back then and didn't get it at first, till the line, "Heinekin. Fuck That! Pabst Blue Ribbon man!" and the theater ERUPTED. I still have the can, never opened.

I'm going to eventually do a video on this topic. But the reason I think CC is the best is because of the personal details she puts in the videos. She's the best combination of vlogger and performance I've seen. The reason I put Katers at second is while she does the performance part great, not a lot of personal details.

No, that wasn't the thing I was criticizing as sexist.
First of all, anyone who talks about the "cuteness" of boy bands is... Well, not someone I want to listen to at the moment.
Now, if you watch channelreviews' stuff you will recognize a recurring theme of him saying that no female can make videos as good as males can.
Besides, youtube is that last place we need more objectification, look at what the women are doing to themselves?

Well, he doesn't say that women on youtube cannot do what men on youtube. He actually says that many of the women on youtube just don't appeal to his interest, which, as you heard/saw in this video, has only a fraction to do with looks. He'll note that he thinks they are good looking if he sees fit to do so, but he only spends an estimated average of 5-15% of his on-camera time actually talking about looks.

He's ACTUALLY saying, that in his opinion there are only two FEMALES on youtube who make really well made videos, and then I slightly larger number who make pretty good videos. Although, he makes these lists distinctly separate from the MALE lists, because there are many of them who are capable of making fantastic videos.

With the exception of one group that makes them out of refurbished or never used parts, hard to find, but worth every penny once you have it. Plus it's a great homage to the 1980's, the decade that made us how screwed up we are today!
