Basically, growing up we've all played loads of different games. Some good, some bad. Some we remember, some we forget. I played this game once in the 90s, totally forgot about it until I noticed it on a compilation cd of sega megadrive games. Fantastic game! Definately standing strong over time.

argh, i can't remember the name of this sega game i used to play when i was a kid... all i know was that it was an RPG and you got to pick who your main character was at the beginning, and i know that at least two of the characters could be a demon or a robot/cyborg. later on you could ask some of the characters to join your party. can anyone help?

In my opinion this game is the best game ever made, but I just wish it was a lot harder to beat. I play it on SUPER and its just not hard enough for me. That's probably because I love this game so much that I've beaten it more times than I can count lol. I always though OUCH was the hardest difficulty as a kid, but after playing it on SUPER I found this its more of a challenge, but still not quite hard enough for me.

I remember this game well. My Genesis and my original cartridge still work for me thankfully :3

I remember about a decade or so ago this game was as hard as heck for me, but now its quite easy for me, and I've finished it around 5 or so times, and never got sick of it. I also way underestimated how potentially insane healer classes can be, spamming heal even when there is no-one to heal was good training. 10 exp per heal x 10 = 1 level.

Brilliant game, I think SF1 just beats it though as I think that 2 has a few too many tedious samey battles and has a few poor characters. In every other way it is better though. The chess battle was always really hard, unless you draw out the king. Anyway great game.

Peter is better. He has higher health defense and attack than Jaha, plus he can fly and has better movement. Even if you give Jaha his alternative promotion peter is still much better. I've heard slade is alright late in the game, but I can never seem to get him to a decant level. I mean he was level 8 when I got rid of him which was a few fights after I got the caravan.

I love both Shining Force 1 and 2. I think they each have their own unique qualities. But I do admit that I prefer Shining Force 1. I like its style and I think it has a better variety of characters.

very cool. I've played this game several times. You can save. the cart has a built in battery but it wears out over time. both of my shinning force games have lost the ability to save.

The game cart had a built in battery and you most certainly could save the game. I've played through it several times. Eventually the battery wears out and you can no longer save. Buying the game on ebay is risky becasue of this situation. It's also quite expensive, over $75 in most cases.

You just need to sword equipped to inflict any damage when you fight him.
