I always held my parents up as an example of love that had faded. I blamed my father because he cheated with a woman young enough to be his daughter. I've realized I've repeated the same mistake. My lack of communication over my "problem" because of my foolish pride, has caused the demise of two relationships. I'm hoping this Yule season I can rekindle something with my first ex because we were good for each other. I helped her lighten up and she kept me from drinking.

This song always reminds me of my parents. They split years ago, but when this song was released, they were still together. My dad used to sing this song and realize it was true for them. I cry everytime I hear it, because his pride and alcoholism got in their way of having a beautiful marriage. For whoever reads this, fix whatever the problem is. Pride is not worth losing the love of a lifetime, and destroying your family.

Trvis Tritt has some of the most heart felt song out, he is a one of a kind artist and his music will pass the test of time, fourty years from now people will still be in love wth the man and his music..

I really enjoy this video.

It's done in a style of old black and white french films.

In it he's an angel (which is why only children can see him) who focuses on guiding people to reach out to each other and subtle but effective acts of help to those in need. I felt he and the director did a decent job considering the fact the budget probly wasnt that much.

But thats just my opinion. If you add some pocket change to it you can a cup of black coffee from a vending machine.

But the relationship portrayed in the video is not a GOOD one..it was abusive...so it's good that it's over for good. It can be amongst siblings or friends, or any situation where pride stopped you from saying you were sorry for what went wrong. Its not about being a doormat, it's about being strong enough to bend (as another country song about too much pride puts it).
