alright man, is it just me or does it seem that most of the "american" contestants on this show are more shrill, less intelligent, less polite than this nice asian-american man and his family? im sure it's just an unfair generalization on my part, but just the order of wins/fails i've seen in the past few minutes really nailed this home for me. it's such a shame that we westerners have to put on such a greedy, shallow, piece of shit show for our own entertainment
It's most likely just you. First off this guy is an american contestant (asian-american is more specific but american nonetheless) so I dont know why you'd treat the man as different from a normal"american" contestant." Also, this show has its own version in many countries around the world (including those in non-western countries) so it's not only westerners who watch stuff like this. I don't mean to rude, but when you said something like that it did sound like you pulled it out of your arse.
I LOVE his reaction to the $292K offer! He gets down on his knees and thrusts his arms up into the air, as if he's thinking, "Yes!! I defeated the banker!!". :-)
@Shame85 This is my opinion, but I believe the show ended because NBC did not have anymore money to give away on this show. By the fourth season, the show crowned two millionaires and gave away a lot of money. Because of that, NBC had to stop showing it imo.
The show actually ended because of (you guessed it) low ratings. It's like primetime WWTBAM, they overdid the show and it hurt it. Badly. A major cause of it was the Million Dollar Mission. IMO that should have only been done in fall of 2007, which was the original plan. Now that a good game show like DOND is gone, NBC is airing crap shows like Minute to Win It.
@csifan18 your opinion is retarded. Do you think they just have a pot of money they start the show with? It is a complex combination of Howie's salary negotiations, ratings, and network time slots for other fresher shows. The amount of money they give away is actually quite a small portion of the show budget.
Howie speaks of the "circle of light". Deal or No Deal should offer a greatest moments DVD. Howie had been on this show long enough to witness some amazing things. I'm so happen for Pyong and his family.
@nbtk7m3 everyone was crying dude... thats total fate right there... i just watched it and i couldnt help it. i watched it when it originally aired also, and it made me teary eyed then also

What Howie did at the end presenting the case with the $750 card in it to the mother and father is my personal memory of the show.
