What the heck with this guy? He NAILED it with this song and then abandoned the style when it counted (during the public voting). Had he continued with this style he would have done SOOO much better than what he did.

@ejsanch what are you talking about? He did do this style throughout the competition. I remember Sugar Were Going Down and Forever, some of the better acoustic performances he did. It was the judges who put this performance on the pedestal that Andrew couldn't match for their standards

That's exactly it! None of his performances could match what he did in Hollywood, and although things may have been in that similar style, none of them after Straight Up were as creative. Take a listen to the original song, then listen to his version. Not much creativity, not much went in there. Then compare how he completely made-over Straight Up. No where near the same level.
