Well Wii's have the coolest interface(hands down) but are generated to a lighter audience of first time video gamers or young children. They have lost almost all of their hardcore gamers. Which is the majority of gaming. Xbox 360 has much better graphics due to its allover power and PS3 has almost the same graphics too. If you have the money buy an Xbox 360, if your rich buy a PS3, and if you just want the Wii buy it. Wii's get old after 5 minutes. Xbox has many fun games also.

I care about graphics even as a Nintendo fan. Although I don't think graphics MAKE the game, they do add a lot to the experience (the "immersion factor"). So my disappointment over their current machine is that, without the extra power, they're already starting at a disadvantage in this regard. I think their motion controls do offset this a bit, but it's disheartening that two years later, the best software on Wii looks like (and in some cases is) what I was playing 5 years ago on the 'cube.

What I mean by this (add a lot *to* the experience) is that the addition of graphical detail helps draw the player into the story. Extreme example: consider the difference between slaying a blocky dragon in the Atari 2600's "Adventure" game with an arrow-shaped thingy. Now switch to the epic Meta Ridley battle in Metroid Prime.  Those cool paper-thin (& flammable) translucent wings, the spray of fiery breath, the whip of that bony tail. All this adds up to a much more visceral experience.

What do graphics matter? It's all about fun. The whole reason video games were invented is for fun. The Wii also has great games. Ones that beat the shit out of Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, And Halo 3. Plus, With the Wii you're also getting exercise while you're playing the game.
