well, the amount of Doctor Who reference is in this episode is huge, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was there on purpose, to stir the debate if it was in fact the TARDIS or not, lol.

Quite obviously the TARDIS. The lit strip with "POLICE Public Call BOX" is visible, as is the squared-off light on the top.

It's too green and the paved window bits aren't the right shape. As much as I LOVE the idea of Sherlock meeting The Doctor (David Tennant's Doctor that is, I'm not bothered about him meeting Matt Smith's), I'm not convinced. :-) Great thought though!

@EllenRebecca3 I think you'll find the green colour is due to post production edits, both colourisation by the sherlock editor and because I lightened the footage a lot to make it clearer, as it was quite dark and hard to see in the original shot.

Sorry, but in my opinion for what it’s worth, it’s NOT a TARDIS, it’s a shed, the angles and top are wrong. It’s just not the right shape. I suppose it could be a fan made one, that is a bit in a ditch, but my money is on Shed, like the kind used in “Downton Abbey” to hold the dog in the woods.

@Kelvington there's a desktop wallpaper i once saw, and it was of an old, worn out, disgustingly coloured tardis in a forest that looks quite a lot like the one in this. i had never made the connection until now but i think its a closer, clearer picture of what was on this
