I remember going to play this on an almost nightly basis at my local arcade. This is probably the most intense game ever with not even a second of a break during play. Sometimes we'd cheat a little with one guy running/firing and the other pressing the grenade button. This game was so hard that it almost seemed fair to cheat a little! LOL
I remember this being one of the most amazing arcade games I use to play at Mazzio's Pizza, along with Merlin, and a bunch others. Man, those were the days.. back when they had real video games :)
@kevin12567 The arcade game did that, too. If the last guy shot you, the game let it slide and you advanced to the next level. It was like, "Noooo!" "Yeeessss!!"
i used to play this in the 80's in the High Tide arcade in Porthcawl S.Wales. thought it was an awesome game. spend hours playing it. i remember getting thrown out of one Arcade because i was on it for so long and got band for playing it lol. ...longest game ive played was 5 1/2 hours with a score of 5,450,500...lost my first life at 1,250.400. would have kept playing it but after that length of time playing my wrist and legs started to ache ..so i killed all my lives off.. GUTTED!!!
@vanporde82 Hey, I'm 38 in 2011, so I grew up with this game. I'd guess maybe $500? I see Punch-Outs for about $500. I don't know if I could fit one into my house, or I may have bought one a while back. Did you buy yours at a game/vending machine place?
Commando is a great game, but really needs Robotron-style controls (ie, 2 joysticks, left one moves in any direction and right stick fires in any direction)
Commando was the first game I ever played at the age of 1 and has always been a game I hold dear to me, its nice to see someone who's soo good at it ^_^
I think we'd all have it easy if bullets moved as fast as you ran. Hell, if it were like this, we'd only need a few hundred happy-trigger marines going to war.
Wow. With the way you played I would have died at least 30 times during this playthrough. I played this game many a time and never had the luck like that to avoid shots and enemies and vehicles charging at you. Very impressive to say the least .
Great playthrough, and you're very good at this game! I've always loved the music in it. I own Capcom Coin-Op Classics for PC that has this game, and for some reason, the music is in a different key. I wish Capcom would release a PC compilation with a good number of their games (including this one of course). Great video!

That was a hell of fighting. I blame your unit for letting one private fights an entire army by himself.
