the guy in the video is wrong about saying the Americans destroyed the infrastructure and the Iraqi identity. Iraq was a mess BEFORE the war, let's not forget that :)
So what? Just because you served there, doesn't mean you understand what Iraq was like 'before' the war.
Let's not kid ourself. Iraq has been troubled for a long time, with or without US/UK intervention.
IF you 'say' you served out there, it seems rather odd that your youtube profile is completely blank! No favourites, no videos, nothing educational about Iraq and the soldiers out there.
1) our basis for going into Iraq was based on false grounds; no connection to bin laden, & no WMDs.
2) Poll after poll (Zogby ect.) of Iraqis in Iraq show the majority want us out of Iraq, and think it is morally justified to Kill the US military in Iraq.
Who put Saddam in power? Who gave him chemical weapons and munitions to fight Iran? Who even set up the middle east into the divided states that we see today? The Anglo-American imperialist empire. You can only afford to give them AND YOURSELVES free home, food, hospital, etc because of the many years the british empire spent plundering the wealth of other nations around the world. Iraq may not be perfect but Britain is hardly a saint on the world stage.
The return of the Islamic Caliphate will be... a nation driven not by the desire for wealth or material goods, but to implement the justice of Islam within Muslim lands.
implement the justice of islam with muslim hands? does that not involve more war and blood shed (something any GOOD RELIGION would denounce)
i think it needs to be remembered that the event that started the war and paranoir against the middle east was done in the name of allah (you should know what im talking about)
justice will never be realised through killing because that is unjust - no man should die for any cause because he wont be around to realise that cause
MuslimGhost, with respect my friend, whatever you have to say about the history of the British Empire, we have to observe things from the way they are today in 2008.
The truth is, thousands of muslims are flocking to live in Britain every day! This is often the country of 'their' choice, so it can't be that bad here.
Yes, we Brits have done some pretty cruel things in history. It's now 2008, and some muslim states are comitting far greater acts of cruelty, i.e stoning and beheading ppl!
Yes fair enough, but every action has its consequences. The decades of imperialism by the western powers have their effects. The British ruled by divide and conquer.. entering a country, creating arbitrary divisions, letting them fight it out and giving the winner power in exchange for supporting British rule. Today we are seeing the continued effects of that. No one side is entirely innocent, but what im opposed to is Britain and America portraying themselves as saints on the world stage.
Also I think 1 million Iraqis killed by this war + many millions more killed by sanctions is a greater evil than what the insurgents have done, although I disagree with attacks on innocent people from any side.
I agree, Britain and America are most certainly not saints - I don't trust either of the governments. But if you read the words on my profile, you will see that I don't agree the youth of Britain should have to be continually reminded about how Britain behaved througout history. It's nothing to do with them.
Yes, Britain has it faults. But one good thing about Britain, is the fact that it is trying to be 'all things' to 'all people' that live here. How many muslim states can say they that?
If they are not reminded, they will only see one side of the story. Should we just forget about the Nazis and what they did? I dont believe in living in the past but at the same time if left unchecked, the nations in power will write history with their own hands. Also there are no Muslim states, just states run by fake Muslims- tyrants installed in power and protected by the US millitary (hence the need for bases). Under Islam, there is justice for all people but they wont allow an Islamic state
Of course the British youth need to know the truth about history, and heaven knows, they are reminded enough! But there has to come a point where we live in 'the now'. The Scandinavians aren't constantly brainwashing their children about all the bad things the vikings did!
I voted for Blair. He took us into Iraq. I didn't agree with that decision. But am I responsible? No! I placed my trust in him, and he let us down. But I'll be damned if it's going to effect the way I feel about Britain!
Yes I agree we should live in the now and find solutions to current problems, but unfortunately history repeats itself. Instead of overtly admitting to an imperial agenda, the AngloAmerican empire has gotten clever about disguising their actions. Now it has come out from multiple sources that there was NO evidence linking Iraq to WMD or terrorism (which is why both Blair and Bush tried to skew intelligence). Why are they in Iraq? Do you really think this war was about helping the Iraqi people?
If you search on google, the British government quietly appologized to Iraq. Two British SAS agents were driving around dressed as Arabs and were arrested by the Iraqis with a ton of weapons and explosives in their cars. They were part of a terrorism plot and were put in jail at which point the British army broke them out. This Shia-Sunni violence is very much orchestrated. Divide and conquer.. its the same thing. Look at Iran, soon you'll see yet another fabricated war coming up.
11 American deaths in July an all-time low in Iraq
U.S. soldiers appear to be taking on more of a peacekeeping role.
An Associated Press tally shows at least 510 Iraqi civilians and security force members were killed in July, a 75 percent drop from the 2,021 deaths in the same period last year.
how can u possibly be sick enough to wish that more us troops will die well ive got news for you no one likes china and there one of the weakest countries in the world... there army sucks and im not sure if they even have a navy get a life and more importantly go jump of a cliff
Trying to hate on China doesn't do shitte, because there is no nationalism in my blood, and seeing that you are driven by it to the point of trying to hurt people by invoking it just brings me great pleasure.
But if you know anything about our Troops you know that they DO in fact believe that the occupation is justified (and in fact, strongly believe in it).
Furthermore, among Marines, the vast majority support McCain over Obama (because McCain is a "war hawk")...and THAT is the truth.
ITS OBVIOUS the fucking marines are not UniversitY graduates to have instinction or have a common sense at least.they are all fucking uneducated, drugAddicts, rapers, murderes. You AmeriCUNTs are the SCUMs of the earth. I hope one day Russia or China wipe you off this planet because the earth deserve human-beings to live not the AmeriCUNTs.When you mother fuckers actually become wise?
Any AmeriCUNTs comments u see they saying we didnt vote for BUSH bla BLA. THEN FUCK UR MOTHER, who elected him?
Not exactly true. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that the troops are monolithic. Their opinions about the war are as diverse as the communities that each one of them represents.
Well, true, that opinion is "diverse" within the military, (as in the two views are represented), HOWEVER, the proportion of those that support Occupation of Iraq is MUCH higher than those that don't:
In the US Marines, about 98% believe in the Occupation(as being morally & politically justified).
"Two" views represented? There are far more than 2 views on Iraq.
I was the in the military before as well and I know for a fact that those who may oppose the war WILL NOT say so publically out of fear of reprisals from their "superiors".
So any poll conducted by the military (or company hired by the military) is suspect to say the least.
I think you are confusing yourself. It was YOU who originally claimed that all troops supported the war. I simply showed that that is not the case. All active duty are troops, period.
If they still feel that way at this point, then fortunately for the American tax payer, marines are not a majority of voters. But I wonder if you're right as of today. Marines in California don't seem too in love with the way this war has been run or eager to continue endlessly.

Trying to hate on China doesn't do shitte, because there is no nationalism in my blood, and seeing that you are driven by it to the point of trying to hurt people by invoking it just brings me great pleasure.
Fuck nationalism, fuck religion.

its not really the fault of the US troops anyway its the politicians here in america that decided to go into iraq. Learn the facts u fucking prick
theburnttree 3 years ago
But if you know anything about our Troops you know that they DO in fact believe that the occupation is justified (and in fact, strongly believe in it).
Furthermore, among Marines, the vast majority support McCain over Obama (because McCain is a "war hawk")...and THAT is the truth.
AmericanDreamer1 3 years ago
ITS OBVIOUS the fucking marines are not UniversitY graduates to have instinction or have a common sense at least.they are all fucking uneducated, drugAddicts, rapers, murderes. You AmeriCUNTs are the SCUMs of the earth. Not exactly true. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that the troops are monolithic. Their opinions about the war are as diverse as the communities that each one of them represents.
muhcarl 3 years ago
Well, true, that opinion is "diverse" within the military, (as in the two views are represented), HOWEVER, the proportion of those that support Occupation of Iraq is MUCH higher than those that don't:
In the US Marines, about 98% believe in the Occupation(as being morally & politically justified).
In the US Army, probably about 80%.
I was a US Marine 1996-2002.
AmericanDreamer1 3 years ago
"Two" views represented? There are far more than 2 views on Iraq.
I was the in the military before as well and I know for a fact that those who may oppose the war WILL NOT say so publically out of fear of reprisals from their "superiors".
So any poll conducted by the military (or company hired by the military) is suspect to say the least.

"I was the in the military before as well "
Really?? In which country did you serve? Canadian?
* *
You show NO understanding of Military culture or psychology.
Personally, I don't think you ever were in the "military".
You are a Liar.
* *
I wish our troops were smarter & more objective, but they really aren't.
AmericanDreamer1 3 years ago
AmericanDreamer1,
Not only was I in the military, but my father was career military, as well as all three of my uncles and my brother served 8 years.
muhcarl 3 years ago
Did they serve in the USMC?
Did they serve in the US Army Infantry?
Did they serve in any spec ops?
Within the military you have different subcultures:
Guys that do the killing have a different mentality than someone that has a desk job.
* *
I am addressing the part of the military that actually looks through their rifle sights and kills the person they are looking at.
Don't tell me the world view of a typical Marine Infantry man has more in common with say Obama than with Bush.

Well I consider ALL active duty serving in some capacity 'troops'.

Well I consider ALL active duty serving in some capacity 'troops'.
but not all troops are the same. stop generalizing.
AmericanDreamer1 3 years ago
I think you are confusing yourself. It was YOU who originally claimed that all troops supported the war. I simply showed that that is not the case. All active duty are troops, period.

If they still feel that way at this point, then fortunately for the American tax payer, marines are not a majority of voters. But I wonder if you're right as of today. Marines in California don't seem too in love with the way this war has been run or eager to continue endlessly.
