i did the dsl filter as descambler nd it works but its not the same as in the video i had 2 take apart a bell satellite low pass filter and hook the 2 dsl filters not 1 in an array female to ird input male end of dsl filter to female end of dsl filter 2 and male fixed to a coax cable . on the low pass filter hook the output 2 a coax splitter input hook the rogers modem up to the splitter nd tv to it as well coz my enet is sumwhere else i can use at ne location as long as cable tv is descramble

I had cable in my home..and the cable company would sometimes give you a free movie channel for the weekend and then turn it off on late sunday night etc. I'd unplug the cable before going to bed so they could not remove the movie channel. Hee hee..I'd have a free movie channel for several days or weeks after that.

Hack a real satellite receiver , hook it to an computer with correct software and "aftermarket board" to emulate the unlock codes to hack their smart card to thinking it is a valid one.
Every time the satellite companies send the kill code through the system your computer emulates a new code automatically until it starts to work and locks on.
Illegal as hell so don't get caught.
BTW the parts come from Canada where their laws state if its in your airspace you CAN receive it and it is not theft!

"stealing" is when they charge you $100+ a month for something and you still have to watch commercials they already charged companies to produce. They broadcast the r.f. signal already, they arent loosing any money over it. It costs fractions of a penny per house to produce the signal. There was no satellite competition then, so only one cable company could get the contract for a city. They under-bid the contract, then when most of the city was wired they'd double or triple the monthly fees. Since they contributed big time to the mayor's re-election campaign, they weren't tossed out.
@TheSoapNazi The cable company uses digital noise to scramble their video signals. With the proper device, you can "de-scramble" the noisy signal to get a crystal clear digital cable signal. So this will not hack anything, it will just make blurry channels clear.

Very stupid decision, you should connect coaxial cables directly to the DSL filter, not to the telephone cables, because this is make a huge level of noise in the TV picture. The coaxial TV cable has a impedance of 75ohm, the telephone cables has impedance from 100 to 150ohm.
I used this to get free OnLive service, the online game-streaming service which features Tachyons for enhanced 2002 era Youtube quality video.
See, the coax acts as a buffer, the single builds up to the breaking point of the coax (saturation) once saturated it all fluids into the filter at once. The filter, flooded with such a massive wave of RF all at once causes a momentary rip in the fabric of space-time. The tachyons are ENCODED with your magical data stream and passed on.
Are you hooking this to the cable box via RF connection? If u have a DCT700( the mini boxes) Forget it!!! Theyre will never be a TRUE solution to hacking digital cable unless you know a technician or u can obtain a TEST UNIT from them where it wont be an unknown device on their system. lol all he did was kill his cable signal. Whoever made this video has NO clue how RF works. RF is not, and I repeat, IS NOT an electrical signal, its a radio wave. It does not flow through the copper center conductor it flows around it. Anything that disrupts that easy path will kill the signal (dont believe me, take your coax cable to your tv, bend it in half sharply and watch your picture go to crud).
@tanis143 R.F. = Radio Frequency...the clue is in the title. If by "flows around it" you mean "skin effect" , that is frequency dependent & tends to be further up the frequency level than baseband video etc. as in high MHz.
When the signal IS being carried by a cable, it still is a flow of electrons ergo it is an electrical signal.
I agree impedance mismatches etc.will attenuate the signal, but it is STILL an electrical signal, but at high frequency A.C.
Radio Frequency is the title of the type of signal, but when you look at the spectrum as a whole, it is a radio wave. Also, there are plenty of high frequency analog channels, but even those that are not as affected would not travel through this "filter". The signal would have so much distortion and noise nothing would be watchable. I've seen stuff tried like this in my field of work all the time. Thats why those cheap splitters cause so many problems.

That only applies to those that know nothing. Cable is digital now. Without complex circuitry, programming an QAM tuners, you can't touch it. Any "hacking" will only open the shielding and cause problems for your entire neighborhood.

This is not working. I used it on scrambled analog channel and NOTHING. Maybe another combination of wires can fix this, but i am not wasting my time with this. If there is any expert telling smth that can work, WELCOME.
This video is from 2007. Its a whole new world of video out there. This actually wasn't even necessary when it was analog because you could just hook up to your vcr / tv and the tuner does its job. To get the digital channels still requires a converter box. Much like the one needed to decode the new broadcast signal for local tv. I still have my analog cable and it works fine without such stupidity.
If you have a newer LCD/Plasma tv than you don't need this (granted the cable company is connected to you home in the first place). I built one just for the hell of it and didn't do a thing. Didn't even get rid of noise in the line on weak channels. The only way to get Digital cable is have a cable dox with a digital descrambler. Besides, the cable company can tell who's stealing cable by using a simple ohm meter. Not a wise idea.
From what I heard it don't work any longer since the system has gone to digital. People use to get Dish channels due to the type of descrambler they used, but they are now using the same company as Directv. Everyone should complain to their congressperson about the subscription companies trying to get congress to approve taking local channels off the air so you have to only get it through a subscription to Dish, Directv, or other companies. Some stations have made this public.
I enjoy my free cable because its a direct line to the pole. No shut off service box on the outside of my place.
I been getting it for over 4 years. And the cable company has changed hands twice. I even saw the cable truck by the pole where my line is and they never even touched it or took it down. Must be a GrandFather in line.

Wow...yeah that won't cause a 2000+ microvolt leak at all. Stupid things like this is what causes so many problems (i.e. noise) in neighborhoods, sometimes even shutting down a whole node(neighborhood). That's ok, once all the cable companies go to switch digital, none of this stupid crap is going to work. Days of free cable are gone. Stealing is wrong no matter how you look at it.

So let's just pretend that a friend has had free cable due to a friend of that friend working for the cable company and hooking it up using coax only. Now the cable company is switching this month to requiring everyone to use their digital box. Is there any way to get around using a cable company box or is the free cable gone forever?

This is a load of crap - first of all a DSL filter is simply a low pass filter nothing else.
secondly anyone who thinks you can just cut and join peiceis of wires - especially coax and use it all hunk-dory at the microwave frequencies of cable tv are from never-neverland...
thirdly this has nothing to do with descrambling cable tv whatsoever!

Very stupid decision, you should connect coaxial cables directly to the DSL filter, not to the telephone cables, because this is make a huge level of noise in the TV picture. The coaxial TV cable has a impedance of 75ohm, the telephone cables has impedance from 100 to 150ohm.
It's lamer decision.

I used this to get free OnLive service, the online game-streaming service which features Tachyons for enhanced 2002 era Youtube quality video.

Are you hooking this to the cable box via RF connection? If u have a DCT700( the mini boxes) Forget it!!! Theyre will never be a TRUE solution to hacking digital cable unless you know a technician or u can obtain a TEST UNIT from them where it wont be an unknown device on their system. Or u can purchace a Free to Air satellite system if ur not gonna work on that project then Shut the Fuck up and Pay the Price.

lol all he did was kill his cable signal. Whoever made this video has NO clue how RF works. RF is not, and I repeat, IS NOT an electrical signal, its a radio wave. It does not flow through the copper center conductor it flows around it. Anything that disrupts that easy path will kill the signal (dont believe me, take your coax cable to your tv, bend it in half sharply and watch your picture go to crud).

@tanis143 R.F. = Radio Frequency...the clue is in the title. If by "flows around it" you mean "skin effect" , that is frequency dependent & tends to be further up the frequency level than baseband video etc. as in high MHz.
When the signal IS being carried by a cable, it still is a flow of electrons ergo it is an electrical signal.
I agree impedance mismatches etc.will attenuate the signal, but it is STILL an electrical signal, but at high frequency A.C.
(Ex. military radio comms. engineer)

Radio Frequency is the title of the type of signal, but when you look at the spectrum as a whole, it is a radio wave. Also, there are plenty of high frequency analog channels, but even those that are not as affected would not travel through this "filter". The signal would have so much distortion and noise nothing would be watchable. I've seen stuff tried like this in my field of work all the time. Thats why those cheap splitters cause so many problems.

Of course, once you get into microwave frequencies, above, say 1.5GHz, the attenuation down co-ax is such that the only real medium is that will transfer it is waveguide.
PLEASE don't ask me to explain waveguide theory in 500 words!
The hack is rubbish, simply, as its name implies, a low-pass filter blocks anything above voice frequencies - 4KHz or so.

All he has done is made an ingress/egress problem. Video Ghosting/distortion and CLI violations at its' best.
But now that just about everything is in digital format (QAM and such), you aren't going to get anything you didn't get before, and probably less.

That only applies to those that know nothing. Cable is digital now. Without complex circuitry, programming an QAM tuners, you can't touch it. Any "hacking" will only open the shielding and cause problems for your entire neighborhood.

This video is from 2007. Its a whole new world of video out there. This actually wasn't even necessary when it was analog because you could just hook up to your vcr / tv and the tuner does its job. To get the digital channels still requires a converter box. Much like the one needed to decode the new broadcast signal for local tv. I still have my analog cable and it works fine without such stupidity.

If you have a newer LCD/Plasma tv than you don't need this (granted the cable company is connected to you home in the first place). I built one just for the hell of it and didn't do a thing. Didn't even get rid of noise in the line on weak channels. The only way to get Digital cable is have a cable dox with a digital descrambler. Besides, the cable company can tell who's stealing cable by using a simple ohm meter. Not a wise idea.

From what I heard it don't work any longer since the system has gone to digital. People use to get Dish channels due to the type of descrambler they used, but they are now using the same company as Directv. Everyone should complain to their congressperson about the subscription companies trying to get congress to approve taking local channels off the air so you have to only get it through a subscription to Dish, Directv, or other companies. Some stations have made this public.

I enjoy my free cable because its a direct line to the pole. No shut off service box on the outside of my place.
I been getting it for over 4 years. And the cable company has changed hands twice. I even saw the cable truck by the pole where my line is and they never even touched it or took it down. Must be a GrandFather in line.
