1997supratt: they\ made 4 speed and 5 speed manual Fieros. The 4 speed was actually a 3 spd with an overdrive gear. The automatics were 3 speeds.

You my friend are SOOO lucky to be alive!!! I remember reading about this on Pennocks. It sucks you lost your Fiero. A 1988 Fiero GT is about the coolest car you can own IMO.

Just be sure you get a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed Auto. Just watch out for the egr tube cracking and if you can get an 88 then that's even better.

im 16 and i jsut bought a 85 gt wiht the 2.8 4speed stick dam one of few good cchosies i mad the one problem is alot of the parts arediscontinued so u hav to go with after maket which isnt such a bad thing dot buy an atuo one !!!

they did make 4 speet STICK shift fieros. Different transmisions. The Getrag was the 5 speed stick.

clearly moneyshotz down there doesn't know what he is talking about,he probably has a "cookie cutter" car,wake up and smell the methanol man.go look at some of the videos of "modded" fieros on here.true stock fieros weren't all that powerful,but they could run road courses with cars that cost over 4 times what they cost !(1988 fieros to be exact).if you don't believe me,do a little research,skidpad and g-force specs on the 1988's were as good as cars that had a lot more power

There was a full tank of gas and after it flipped in leaked onto the engine and started the fire. I came out with a lot of cuts from the glass and have a soar back but other then that. I was fine.

well first it was going slow coming up to the turn. 30 at the most. loose wheel and it came off.

MoneyShotz3304 you are a douche. I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about. You can fit ANY small block engine inside a fiero chassis with relatively minimal modification. They can be seriously fast in the right hands are are a very nice car all around. They are an affordable, nice looking, mid engine car that is sporty and fun. There is no need to hate.

People always tell me my Fiero is a death trap, but it's amazing to see just how un-hurt people come out of wrecks. I've seen a Fiero get pinned between a median and a semi and the driver came out with a scrape on his arm.

I agree with lakesmorn. That is a tragic loss but this looks to me like another testomonial of the safety of Fieros and that you could be in a big accident like that and make it out alive. Glad you ended up buying another. Take care of it :)

THe worst part the only thing I can recall from the wreck was after the car was upside down and my friend was trying to get me up. Then I realized we were upside down lol, And then the car caught fire and then i got the f out.
