  • The least you could do is post credits for the photos. I believe you took them from Pitt Rivers museum's web page.

  • @wendwa Credits usually come at the end of a video as they have at the end of this one. Thank you for your comments

  • I posted this video couple years ago. I teach african american girls african dance, this is from the luo dance of kenya.

  • Loved the music

  • Luo, one of the most important branches of a group of Africans who actually began the idea of world civilization

  • What is "'Jo'kowiny". that doesn't exist. Luo are only know as "jo Luo" (wich mean man from the Luo People (plural= ja Luo)) and" joka Luo" mean "Luo People". I think you are confused with "Joka Owiny" which mean "Owiny's People". These Joka Owiny were the penultimate Luo coming in Kenya (coming from Padhola). The first one were the "Jo Ugenya" clan with Ajwang' Ramogi as leader. These "Jo Ugenya" were "Joka Jok" and coming from Busoga. If you use the "Jo" prefixe, you'r speaking about a clan.

  • Notice that when the Roman Empire wrote the Bible some 1600 years ago, they mentioned Shem and Hem also known as Sham and Ham. Realise that those words are exactly like Abram (the first way in which Abraham was called) and Abraham (his new name after Elohim(Allah) had chosen him and given him the entire planet as heritage).

The point here is that Shem and Hem are one and the same person. When you remove S from Shem, you have Hem. El or Al, it's the usual old trick for world domination.

this is beatyful..... Luo's originated in sudans nile valley tho, whilst us Somali's originated in the ancient land of punt a.k.a Pwenet of Somalia/Puntland east-african Somali coast..

indeed Nilotic-Luo and Kushitic-Somali are the same brothers and sisters that used to fight against the invasions of white caucasians and semite arab enemies into ancient egypt, before them white euopeans and arabs forced my tribe the Somali's and the luo to migrate further southwards to E-Africa

  • @CushiticSomalianMale @CushiticSomalianMaleThe Luo and Somali are related.During 1960s Somali were blacker than today. Jibuti is in fact Egypt (E JIBUT, i.e "in jibut), "in Egypt", "e gipti".

MALA and MAGAÑ (ñ is silence)

Luo call the Somali J'omala, descendants of Omala, a Luo ancestor.O Magañ means "feeding" in Keltic languages (also related to Luo). In Luo, Ma gago, Ma gag means her/him who feeds. O gago means he/she is feeding. As a name it means him/her who has blessed me with food.

  • @LanguageLuo

well my brother.. i must admit, you got a few points right, and i agree, but theres some things i dont agree, like my Somali ancestors are called Boon(Punt) and the ancestors of Boon=Punt is Kooshin(Kush/Cush) and the ancestor of Kooshin/Cush, is Ham(KHam) hence my tribe originated 12.000 thousand years ago in southern egypt, and northern sudan, but even before that the ancestor of Ham, originated in modernday Boonland a.k.a Somalian Puntland, where im from but still i see ur point

  • @CushiticSomalianMale In fact, it is in the Bible (Torah) that we find the mention of Ham and Shem but do realise that the Bible (Torah) was written by the Hebrew. It is their world and vision of the space around them. Look at the Bible properly, we will notice that Abraham did not even come from the Middle East. His story starts from somewhere around TURKEY, on the foot of Mount Ararat. Turkey is not Africa!

The Somali have got nothing to do with Ham and Shem. Moses was a SEMITE.

  • @LanguageLuo

Well my brother, i see your very knowledgeable when it comes to your Luo heritage.. and im proud of you for that, as a fellow abOriginal brother.. but also i know my OWN Somali-Kushite heritage, and thats Boon, and Boon a.k.a Puntland a.k.a Land of Punt(Somalia) SOMALi/PUNT.. is my Roots, and my heritage, so in a way i agree with you Luo and MY Somali tribe is related.. but not any more related than black-abOriginals are with africans, so we are all kinfolks, & Somali is PUNT only.

  • @CushiticSomalianMale Question: Are Somali's Related to Nubians of Southern Egypt ? If Yes then there is your answer.Luo's are said to have "originated" in Southern Sudan Bar-el-Ghazal Their Neighbours the Dinka call them Jo-Jur Meaning Strangers, Though they some how physically resemble each other it is possible to tell one from another, the people who resemble the luo closest r the Funj which is the Shilluk word for stranger/ "Arab" . Think Small Group of Nubians who followed the Nile south

  • @chopperdriver6969 YOU have got some valid points, and i agree with you..

but the Question about are Somali's like MYSELF, related to luo's, that question was brought up by a Luo brother called LanguageLuo, and you can see the comment bellow!.. i didnt bring that up, but since he thought i was a Luo because im darkskinned and tall, thats probably why he thought my tribe the Somali are related to them, but infact even tho i am darkskinend and tall thats because im a FULLBLOODED Somali-kushite.

  • @chopperdriver6969 part 2 of my comment..

so like i said before and like i said to brother 'LanguageLuo', the Somali my tribe, we are originaly from ancient Kemet, and migrated back to our even MORE Ancient land called Pwenet(modernday Puntland/Land of PUNT=Somalia) so hence the ancient Black Egyptian Pharaohs of Kemet(Ancient Egypt) they where of my tribe, cushitic language Somali, and they had my DNA Bloodline ethnic -ways, and they where Kushites, while the Nubians where Nilotic-Nilotes...

  • @chopperdriver6969 Lived amongst the Shilluk & Dinka Lost their language and continued their Migration South to The lands they Now Occupy Around Lake Vic. The First ones arrived in the 1500 last 1800 where were they before then. Genetics~Dominant Haplogroup (The Father of) Somalis / Luo = E, Dinka/Shilluk = A/B Aborigines/SE Asians = C therfore Genetic Distance is Greater to the Aboriginies than to the Luo. So Yes these are 2 Children of the Same Father.Hope this sheds some light on the Topic.

  • @LanguageLuo

About Moses/Prophet Musa, well my brother let me remind you that in islam, arabs are the least muslims, meaning there are more None-arab Mulsims, than there are arab muslims, statistic ways, infact of all the prophets and messengers Arabs where the least just 1 messenger.. so hence Musa was adopted by my ancestors(the Pharaonic egyptians, that are darkskinned and tall, just like myself, as you can see ME on my Channel's background picture) so hence Moses was not ONLY Half-Semite...

  • @CushiticSomalianMale

greetings brother.. hope you been good, and just word of correction you might be right about Djibouti beeing a Luo word, but the country itself is ethncially inhabited by ethnic Somali-Kushites like myself, they are from anorthern clan, but nevertheless all clans are from the ancestor called Soo'Mali, so hence jibuiti as you say is also a Somali word...
