I usually find myself agreeing with Ron Paul, but on this issue I believe he is simply playing to popular patriotic sentiment in an attempt to win political points. You can not simultaneously oppose war and support those who voluntarily participate in war. That is a contradiction. The troops are voluntary aggressors who invaded a sovereign state which did not threaten our security. It is the right of all people to resist military occupation by a foreign state.

If they somehow (in their free time) develop the rare ability to honestly study & then face up to the fact that they actually work for Haliburton, et al, the penalties are very stiff. I'll assume that you are a libertarian. If you are, then you agree with me that the invasion of Iraq was an act of aggression. If you agree, it logically follows that those who participate in this invasion are aggressors. The collapse of this fiat currency and "federal" government is not the end of the world. The central government has grown much too large and powerful. There is no infiltrating this monster in an effort to change it. A collapse is overdue. It will happen, and when it does, it will not be the end of the world. There will not be any dramatic explosions or crowds running wild tearing down buildings and property. There will not be mass starvation.

We're a 'democracy', so to speak, but we've had PLENTY of terrorist attacks, going even as far back as the War of 1812 (when Britain took out our first White House) and probably the Revolutionary War if you consider those attacks on Loyalist or republican homes terrorism.
And of course, Bush is completely wrong when it comes to terrorism and democracies. While it's true some autocracies do sponsor terrorism, they could just as easily quash it in their home nations. I mean, these are totalitarian rulers!! Why do you think there wasn't a single terrorist attack in Iraq from the 1970s until 2003? Saddam was so authoritarian terrorists couldn't afford to attack and risk getting tortured or getting the rest of their comrades taken out because oe one terrorist.
Dictatorships can either sponsor terrorism or keep it out. But it's a mistake to assume that democracies are somehow automatically more effective at fighting terrorism. Dictatorships have one thing democracies don't: excessive crackdowns on civil liberties that allow them to prevent ANY terrorism. I'm not saying this is ok, but that's the reality. Democracies can't possibly stop all terrorism since they'd have to really quelch a lot of citizen freedom in the process.
I even tried to volunteer at my age to go to Afghanistan after 9-11 to get some revenge and bring Bin Laden to justice just like most of our current troops did.

With a drivers license, it would be easier for them to obtain legal employment, pay taxes, and pay into their Social Security retirement. I usually find myself agreeing with Ron Paul, but on this issue I believe he is simply playing to popular patriotic sentiment in an attempt to win political points. You can not simultaneously oppose war and support those who voluntarily participate in war. That is a contradiction. The troops are voluntary aggressors who invaded a sovereign state which did not threaten our security. It is the right of all people to resist military occupation by a foreign state.

I'll assume that you are a libertarian. If you are, then you agree with me that the invasion of Iraq was an act of aggression. If you agree, it logically follows that those who participate in this invasion are aggressors. You understand that the only permissable useage of force is in retaliation for aggression and in defense of person or property. Aggression is immoral, therefore those who commit acts of aggression are immoral. I don't see where the confusion lies. It's simple logic.

The collapse of this fiat currency and "federal" government is not the end of the world. The central government has grown much too large and powerful. There is no infiltrating this monster in an effort to change it. A collapse is overdue. It will happen, and when it does, it will not be the end of the world. There will not be any dramatic explosions or crowds running wild tearing down buildings and property. There will not be mass starvation.

Dictatorships can either sponsor terrorism or keep it out. But it's a mistake to assume that democracies are somehow automatically more effective at fighting terrorism. Dictatorships have one thing democracies don't: excessive crackdowns on civil liberties that allow them to prevent ANY terrorism. I'm not saying this is ok, but that's the reality. Democracies can't possibly stop all terrorism since they'd have to really quelch a lot of citizen freedom in the process.
