  • Merry Christmas!

  • @RocksSpock Okay well let me ask you this simple question: What do you think of homosexuals or nonbelievers or anyone else who doesn't follow the rules in the bible? Hint: Saying "Well I hope Jesus shows them the light and helps them escape their sin" or some other similar bullshit makes you just as bad as the bigots who just attack people outright verbally and physically. If you honestly don't care what they do then well, you're one of the good ones.

  • @RocksSpock Most christians follow the New Testament? That's news to me, because it seems that most are obsessed with Leviticus and Deuteronomy which among many nasty things, teaches hatred of homosexuals and nonbelievers... Oh, and wouldn't you know it, Corinthians teaches hatred of nonbelievers as well, and guess where that is? The NEW Testament. You wanna talk about politics too? Christians want a theocracy just as bad as militant muslims, they're just more annoying than violent.

  • It is/was a Pagan festival this day came from, what does it hurt you that we Christians celebrate it? I mean if we don't want it to be said Happy Holidays! but Merry Christmas, what is the problem? so what you do not believe so everyone else suffers. NO this is not how and what America was founded on. this country was founded on Christian values, God! remember so what you are against America to since it is because of beliefs in God whom we love and protect this country and our RIGHTS.

  • @childrenfromabove Why does every christian think this country was founded on christian values? Our forefathers were mostly deists, which means they believed in a god, but they weren't part of a religion. Read a history book sometime.

  • @necrogenesis1981 USA: Founded neutral of religion, raised religiously, it's fate? I fear the worst.

  • @InsanityComplex1 It's already happening, religion is the reason our country is one reason our country is going to shit right now. I might believe in a god, but I don't push it on anyone and I sure as hell don't think it belongs in government. Politicians are sneaky about it though, they love pushing their agendas in places it doesn't belong. Wish someone would shove it back up their asses where it came from.

  • @necrogenesis1981 You only believe or you're religious because there is a difference. Religion is very unstable due to the inability to agree on one intrepretation of the bible and as the church brainwashes and indoctrinates with dogmas that are essentially anti-human with it's irrational and unreasonable nature.

  • @InsanityComplex1 Exactly, I don't believe in organized religion whatsoever. If someone believes in a god that's fine, but when it turns into a group mentality that's when it gets dangerous and creates serial killers and terrorists.

  • @InsanityComplex1 Derp... I repeated myself where I shouldn't have, should have proofread before I sent. You get my point though :P

  • I only know that you do have this right to not believe, but why is it so important to you to take it away from me? I have all my rights taken because of people like you. if you do not want to hear what I have to say them get away from me, if you do not want your kids praying then make then not do it, but this is my right and for Christ I would fight even if it means the death of me. if you don't like something then you do not get involved. but as for taken away from us who believe you are wrong.

  • YOUR RIGHT, I am a Christian and this Day was picked by the Roman Catholic 300 years after Jesus' birth. as for the gifts it was not about gifts it was about the 3 wise men yes given to the king but no this is a pagan day as for the tree it is from a pagan festival and the tree is about life.

  • @RocksSpock Actually political views annoy me too, fortunately I can troll with the best of them so I know how to deal with it. I don't mind opinions, but they should stay that way. Many christians treat their opinions as if they're 100% fact and it annoys me to no end. If they really want to be serious about their religion, why don't we see all of the christians sticking to the bible word for word? The human race would be extinct from all of the murders or suicides, that's why.

  • @RocksSpock It's not a "claim", it's a fact. I'll agree with you on one thing though, live and let live, but it's hard when christians just want to shove their religious views down our throats all the time.

  • I'm a pagan myself and I heard you mention Easter, which coincidentally was also hijacked by the christians, Halloween was also hijacked to an extent (All Saints' Day). So for christians to say that atheists can't celebrate christmas is complete bullshit. Christmas these days is a corporate holiday and I'm sure even most christians disregard the religious aspect for the gift giving and food, although they of course won't admit it.

  • i'm atheist and i love to celebrate christmas. it's not about religion but tradition and atmosphere and saying happy holiday makes it sound like it's just a day off work

  • Seems like a perfectly legitimate question to me. CHRISTmas is the celebration of the birth of CHRIST. If you don't believe in Christ then celebrating it seems kind of stupid. I don't celebrate the birth of anyone I don't believe in. Why would I? Not believing in Jesus is stupid enough to win you the Golden Brain Dead Award but then to celebrate his birth anyway brings it to a whole new level.

  • well, KH, christians have shown throughout their history that they have a problem accepting others - especially when they try to preach love and acceptance

  • Didn't you cover this topic last year? BTW, happy early Mawlid an-Nabi! :P

  • Well said. Was recently talking to a friend about the Jesus born on christmas thing, and laughing at the numbers of religions in the past that said their savior or what have you was born the same day.

  • this... is the ultimate christmas video.

  • A really good question here has to be: Why do christians celebrate Christmas? It actually has nothing to do with christianity whatsoever.

  • If you're Chinese Christian, you only have Christmas, New Years happens a few months later.

  • Jan.2, 2012 HAPPY TAKE DOWN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS DAY!!

  • Jezuzfreek777 "Why do atheists celebrate Christmas?" Sheeeish. Fucking AGAIN?! How many fucking times do these stupid shits near to hear the answer? Are they really so fucking brain dead they cannot retain anything in their heads for longer than a few minutes?

  • @Desertphile Watch his follow up video...he heard the answers again and STILL managed to miss EVERY point.

  • Wow! A complete smackdown! Favorited!

By the way, I hope you gave him a dose of Jeremiah 10:2-4...

"2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."

  • Well said! And completely agree ; )

  • Comment removed

  • Wait, did you imply that there was something beneath Jezuzfreek? At 2:40?

This is a youtube christian we're talking about. -NOTHING- is beneath them. They will (and commonly do) shit on their own bible if they think it'll advance them in the eyes of their sheep followers.

  • Wars up witcho cam bro

  • @kingheathen nice video. My thoughts exactly. Haven't gotten around to making my holiday vid yet. It would prob be the same. Cheers and happy holidays to you.

  • Celebrate the returning of the Sun!

  • My thoughts exactly...

  • Happy holidays, heathens. And a safe and prosperous New Year. <3

  • I Don't even know any Christians, my family, friends, and I had a great Christmas.

  • it is all about words with those christians.......words are ALL they have

lets not crap on their fantasies by saying "happy holidays" lets say "merry shitmas" so immature people can tell us how immature we act!

  • It is astounding that some Christians take “happy holy days” message as an attack on their religion. What’s so evil about wishing someone happiness?

  • @askegg "Happy holidays" doesn't cater to them and make them feel warm and fuzzy inside. That is a privilege they were never, and will never be, deserving of.

  • I will say though that the atheists who bitch about someone saying "Merry Christmas" to them give the rest of us a bad name and perpetuate this sterotype of us being whiny. I don't even have a problem with the government using "Christmas" as long as it's the secular aspect of it. For example, I would have no problem with calling the tree on the white house lawn a "Christmas tree", but I would have a problem if they started talking about how wonderful Jesus was.

  • @RockBanned I agree with you. I totally agree with you. I celebrate Christmas. I have a Christmas tree, Christmas lights, lots of Santas and reindeer. My kids love it. I don't care what anyone calls it. There are much more important things to get worked up about than people wishing you a Happy Whatever.

  • I celebrate Christmas for the same reason that Christians celebrate Halloween. It's a secular holiday for the most part with some religious roots. Christmas is obviously more religous these days than Halloween, but the analogy is similar.

And Christmas is a pagan holiday anyway, along with Easter. Christians just co-opted the pagan festivals for the winter solstice and spring equinox to make converting pagans easier. So if they can co-opt Dec 25, so can I.

  • I don't know if it's just me or not, but you sounded kinda echoy and distorted. Did you get a new mic or change the settings recently?

  • @miyamotofan yeah, new computer...still working out the kinks

  • I really have no problem with merry Christmas or happy hannakuh and stuff like that. In my mind it's just people trying to be kind and enjoy the holiday season the way they see it

  • Many christians are against tolerance and diversity.

  • I wonder if it's because celebrating New Year is just a little too Pagan or New Agey for them, that they don't want "their" celebration mixed up in all that "nonsense".

I know the church my family went to as I was growing up, often admonished anyone making reference to any New Year celebrations.

    Just a thought.

  • @KingHeathen I love your vids and agree with most of what you say, but when you tell Christians, "study your history" you are doing them no service. Christians have rewritten history more times than Lindsay Lohan has been in rehab.

  • My FAVORITE thing about Easter is that the day is based on the the full moon, and these Christians don't see that it's Pagan. That shit cracks me up. ^___^ I totally celebrate Pagan holidays because they are fun when you take out the stupid Jesus shit out and who doesn't love chocolate eggs and bunnies?

  • Someone actually asked me why I celebrate passover if I don't believe in god... my response... I believe in my family. Then he said, well prove that your family exis... oh, wait, you exist therefore you probably have a family... that shut him up right quick.

  • The beginnings of your videos always make me thirsty.

  • I bet most of these so called Christians that have Christmas music also have the song Happy Holiday's.

  • Can you point to a resource that discusses the history of Christmas that you went over? Specifically the point about it being an economic response.

  • @ScissorHand26 To clarify...Christmas wasn't an economic response, but the tradition of gift giving wasn't popular till then. It existed and people did it, but nothing like it is today. I remember there was a recent documentary on History channel about it...don't remember the name, but the information can be found in many places. Don't have one online that goes into it off hand.

  • @KingHeathen I love the LORD! but as for gift given it was in fact not about Christmas but a Pagan Festival, the gift giving was a part of their rituals. see I am not against the word of God, but I am for the truth and the Lord is about the truth, not all this name calling and hate.

  • @ScissorHand26 It was originally Saturnalia.

  • Holy Days...They should appreciate the saying.

  • You should be well aware that Christians do not care about learning anything outside what they believe. Giving them facts only gets you worked up, and accomplishes nothing. These are the people that believe ridiculous fairy tales as truth. They have "faith".

  • @ultim4t32 Yeah, I noticed some of the Christians at my church (I'm an Atheist BTW) seem to get real worked up over really stupid shit because I think they get nervous inside "oh no I might be wrong! LALALA!" I guess its why I stopped going (besides not wanting to)

  • @ultim4t32 "Giving them facts only gets you worked up, and accomplishes nothing."

-I have recognized their weakness which is interpretting the bible and has divided them by the thousands, they're also supposed to spread the word but spend most of their time online defending the gospel and if they back off after being argued with too harshly, they lose. I've been trying to use these elements as leverage against them. Some of them also hate "swearing". Focus on them, not their god.

  • Also, any chance I/we could get your opinion (or maybe even a vid) on Christopher Hitchens? He is recently deceased, and as I'm sure you are aware, he was also an advocate for ideas/ideals that you also (appear to) share.

His writings and public speeches helped put words to my faith's confusion and answers to questions Christianity/God could not give me. And frankly, I've never been as sad to hear of the passing of someone I didn't actually know.

  • @xLostInTransit There's not much else to really say, is there? You summed it up nicely. He will be missed.

  • I wonder if the movie "Holiday Inn" makes their brains implode? Vintage values.. but they aren't calling it Christmas Inn. Ahhhh!

  • @nadiaTeeze LOL!!!! Excellent question.

  • Greetings from Texas, a place where the idiotic suggestion that "Jayzus" is the only reason for the season is heard annually, and much to my irritation. I am working at a coffee shop to help pay my way through school, so I've simply taken to using the word "Likewise" with a smile to respond to the "Merry Christmas!" crowd.

I may be well informed and self respecting, but none of this is worth losing my job over. So KH, keep saying what needs to be said for the rest of us. Much appreciated!

  • Honestly the only people I saw bitching about saying happy holidays were my christian friends and acquaintances. Some even went as far to say Christmas was the only major holiday of the season and that Jesus was the reason for the season. I lost a few facebook friends over my responses.

  • @ChedWick05 I'd guess you are better off without those "friends".

  • Good Video!!

The thing is why do Christians care if an Atheists celebrates christmas anyway?? What I do in my home is not hurting them.

  • Personally, it doesn't bother me one way or another. What does bother me when someone gets mad because I don't say "Merry Christmas" to them when I help them at work. I'm tired and want to go home, so I could care LESS about saying it. And my family got mad when my boss (who is Hindu) wrote Happy X-Mas on a card he gave me. The got mad and said "How DARE he take Christ out of Christmas!" I tried explaing that he's Hindu, but that didn't work. Yet another reason I hate the HOLIDAYS.

  • @BygPhattyPlus Actually, the X is an abbreviation of the Greek word for Christ... Χριστός.

Toss that little tidbit at them and see what they say.

  • I wonder if Jezuzfreek777 is still sharpening his knife, waiting for god to give him the go ahead to kill his child as he said he would if god really asked?

  • Is the video a bit laggy or is that just my internet connection?

  • @HaploidCell If it were your connection, it would skip the sound too along with the image, don't you think?

  • Growing up, I didn't know one christian family who celebrated christmas as a religious holiday. A few attended midnight mass, but they went for the spectacle/theater/socializing/tradition, not out of religious obligation. I wonder if Jezuzfreek777 has a christmas tree, and, if so, why he's ignoring Jeremiah 10:2-4.

  • ...just went and watched his video on this..lol....and why do guys like Jezuzfreek777 always disable ratings...hmmmm

  • Christians at various times have banned presents, christmas trees etc, because they were pagan or whatever. Ironic that they're now claiming exclusivity on the modern tradition that is Christmas.

  • I predict that in December 2012 this issue will come up again. CNN will run the "So and so blah blah blah, "War on Christmas" says Blah Blah ". It's just something that happens, like people being biblically insane on every "9-11 was an inside job" video.

  • I doubt he'll even let her see this.

  • HAHAHA...great video, good points, Jezuzfreek777 is a dumbass...nuff said.

  • Beer out of a brandy snifter? That's pretty high-brow! As for the content, yes, I think most people see it exactly like that. Only the perennially "persecuted" see saying Happy Holidays as a bad thing.

  • There are many ignorant christians who think that being an atheist literally means "you don't believe in anything." Seriously.

  • awesome kingheathen

  • Maybe next video can be why do Christians have a Christmas tree or even have a clue what the meaning behind the tree, but i guess we can let em have da bunny rabbit for easter.

  • Heathen I 'm concerned about your heath. After watching this video I have come to the conclusion you have high blood pressure. Your Pills!...Your pills!...LOL

  • Every time we get discussing this holiday issue and it's origins, I have to remember how Coca-Cola hijacked the Santa image to market their product back in the day. This Xtian co-opting of the holiday season for their marketing of their dogma seems quite similar.

  • I should think it more important for your argument that the term "Holidays" means "Holy Days". Why do christians have a problem with this?

  • Nice! LOL Happy Holidays!

  • December 25th is the birth of Arceus, I call it Arceusmas!

  • phew--thank YOU!

  • I think he knew that he would get a lot of views and comments on his video and that is the only reason why he made that video.

  • christmas is secular

    get over it

  • @sobored671 no christmas is christian, but they stole the date which christmas fell on. The christians can keep their day to remember a guy who never lived. Christmas is not secular people just want it to be so it can be flashed out in the open and not as many people will complain about the seperation of church and state be violated.

  • My answer to jezuzfreak is simply "why the fuck not?" I can celebrate whatever the fuck I care to

  • Perfectly said/done KingHeathen ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • Celebrate winter solstice! The sun is real and worth celebration! Dump christianity! 8)

  • i celebrate th ebirth of santa and his 7 reindeers THE TRUE MEANIN OF CHRISTMAS

  • "Happy Holidays" has been regularly said since I was a kid (Born in 1975). I don't understand why people are making such a stink of it now.

  • "And lo, Yahweh commandeth thee to give to thine bretheren on that day, that day being the twenty fifth of thine twelth month, bountiful gifts of all manner to feast the joyous birth of thine holy son"

  • @bonnie43uk "bountiful gifts of all manner to feast the joyous birth of thine holy son"

I agree, only thing is you misspelt the last word it wasn't "SON" but "SUN".

May the sunshine bless you with it's warm rays.

  • re: New Year's, here's something amusing. I live in one of those blue counties, where liquor is illegal to sale on Sundays, due to it making little baby Heseuss cry. I saw, however, that they're giving that god-fearing law a pass THIS coming Sunday, because of the New Year holiday. Soooo since drunkeness on this day has become as much a tradition as Grandma's inedible fruitcake (<3 ya, granny!), and the pagan tree in the living room, this break in the rules will be overlooked. lmao!

  • @Xynth101088

    ResERECTION.

    Problem solved.

  • According to the internet university the origin of the word "holiday" is "Holy Day". How is this word less "christian" than Christmas? It certainly do not imply atheism.

  • Jezuzfreak777 is a douche bag. We atheist have more right to celebrate the pagan religion than Christians.

  • Great points you make. Have a happy New Year KH!!!!

  • Wait, WTF???

You know, this is hardly the first time I've been baffled by a Theist's failure to grasp a concept that I thought being HUMAN would've made easy to figure out for yourself. (Don't get me started on Morality) But you'd THINK theists would get the concept of FAMILIES. Isn't Christianity theoretically supposed to be all about family? Isn't that "God's plan" or something?

    And... he's a Family Man! He's GOT a family!

  • NostalgiaCritic has a whole song about that called "Holiday Clusterfuck".

We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia but there does seem to be a few holidays all happening about the same time, all when it's bloody hot.

  • Why aren't christians busy putting mass back in Christmas?

  • Dude just say "Happy Christmahaniquanzica" That's Christ-ma-han-e-quan-ze-ka phonetically.

  • @DaBamBamMan Happy Christmahaniquanzicafestivus!

  • YOU NEED TO START MAKING MORE VIDEOS AGAIN MAN.

  • @DaBamBamMan I just made one, JEESH! ; )

Yeah I know...it's been hard lately to get the motivation. Life has shifted my focus and I've got to get through these other things first. They're coming...just hang in there.

  • @KingHeathen No need to explain yourself, this all caps fucktard can jog on.

  • Humans are emotional, irrational creatures, especially in groups. It's sad how easily this is exploited.

  • I just see all so-called "Holy Days" (to include B-days) as excuses to throw a party. I see no good reason why, for me, to not celebrate either because something great happened or maybe something really awful happened and I need cheering up. Just my 2 cents.

  • Comment removed

  • This video is all glitchy. It looks like you are having a seizure.

  • @zacthebold Thought it was just me.

  • @KingHeathen "You hijacked the Winter Solstice!"

Is this the pagan holiday/tradition from which Christmas was supposedly inspired?

  • @synchronium24 Yes. The winter solstice celebration goes back into ancient times. Yule, Saturnalia, Brumalia; the Egyptians had one as well. Most Apologist scoff at this and brush it aside by stating that Jesus wasn't born at this time. But it shows how Christianity developed by taking pagan ideas and Christianizing them.

  • @synchronium24 It's the pegan holiday that the modern Christmas is celebrated on. The church changed the date Christmas was celebrated on in order to make celebrating it easier for newly converted pegans.

  • @synchronium24 It's one of them. Christmas is now a fusion of many different traditions that took place during the winter.

As far as other pagan holidays go though, Christmas doesn't hold a candle to where Easter comes from. The whole bunnies and egg thing are fertility symbols that go along with celebrating the spring, and during this particular event they celebrated by having lots of sex. Good ol Ishtar. I still have no idea why they decided to merge Jesus' Resurrection with this holiday.

  • Did my own rant on this. It's my first vid I think. And I saw the vid the other day you are responding too. Christmas is NOT Christian, period. The better question is why do Christians celebrate traditions of men when clearly Jesus said those who do worship in vain? And is it not ironic that they trade material items in the name of a man who said sell all that you have and follow me?

  • I don't celebrate it, seems dumb but I also hate being around my family so as an atheist there's really NO reason for me to get into Christmas.

  • @PainAddict666 word for word my life.

presents are especially annoying, especially if you life alone/with one roomate, are in your early-to-mid 20s, and money is tight.
