when u cast try to keep your wrist from moving then ur fly is slapping the water and will scare the fish.what will help you with that is get a wrist brace and where that and practice your cast hope it hepls
Try not to stand upstream and cast down stream, you can't even get a drift that way, instead stand downstream and cast upstream so you can at least drift your flies!

Plus all the fish are looking upstream waiting for food. If you stand upstream they can totally see you.
