I had one too, i think i was 4 or 5 years old,i also had rodan that flying dragon/bird?lol,and alot of other japanese monster toys,and the japanese action figures of kikaida and kamen rider. i had a relative who brought me those toys from japan when he went there on vacation.

My older cousins gave me this toy as a hand-me-down when I was little, back in the early 80s. The tongue was broken and stuck out all the time and the hand that launched was missing. I still had a lot of fun smashing my other toys with it. :)

gosh i'm old! i was like in the first grade when this godzilla toy came out. and even then i was thinking what's with the launching claw. i guess since he can't breath his atomic blast, he had to shoot something. in the Godzilla cartoons (the 80's series) he shot laser beams from his eyes.

If they remade this Godzilla, they'd have to take out the launching claw. All remade toys from the 70's and 80's that had similar features have been stripped of them. Transformers had launching missile weapons, and much like it was for Lawn Darts, they were banned because of the idiot kids in later generations.

@Snapscape BRAVO!!!!! This was one of my FAVORITE TOYS I still have him, but unfortunately he has seen a lot of damage over the years. Not to sound like I'm 100 years old and walking uphill in the snow, but kids now just don't realize how freakin cool a toy like this especially of this size was to a kid in the 70's. I still love it.
